I been talking to a female I met on Myspace for 9 months, she cliams to work for the US Gov. in the US Embassy in Ghana. My friends thinks she is a scam artist, she been using my address as her's to get mail and packages, and then I been shipping them to her at her cost to Ghana. My friends may be right about her, is there anyway to find out if she is telling me the truth.

She works for the US Government/Embassy in Ghana and can't get mail at the Embassy in Accra? That's wrong, you're being scammed BIG TIME.

Contact the embassy immediately via e-mail at:

pressaccra@state.gov

Put this woman's name into the e-mail and ask if she works there and has been receiving packages from you.

he might be around ur age but the photos still can be fake. so the only way to know if he is real or fake is doing a video & voice chat with him ask him to buy a webcam and if he refuses it ask him why. if he says he cannot afford it, dump him on the spot. u don't wanna date a guy that is a dirt poor or... wose.. someone fake. (u can buy one for $15 at walmart / bestbuy) i highly doubt he is real. i bet the guy in the 5 photos are hot so u are in love with him. more than 90% of young ppl have FB or at least some SNS today. one more suggestion. he has photos so i gather he has a digital camera. or even if he doesn't have a camera he can always borrow one from one of his friends. ask him to take a proof shot. tell him to write ur name on a piece of paper and take a shot of him holding the paper. this works too. good luck

Open one of her packages :)

She must have told you to some extent what you're helping transport to her, right? If she's lying about what's in the packages, it'll be pretty obvious that she's lying about plenty of other things.

& why would you tell someone you met over the internet your address? Why are you doing this for her anyway (even if it is at her expense)? It sounds like a waste of time.

Are you really serious or are you just trying to entertain us? God, I hope you aren't really falling for this scam. First of all, you have no way of knowing that anything she (or it could be a "he" for all you know) claims is really true. And why are you letting a stranger use your mailing address? How do you really know what is in those letters and packages? I once knew a guy that let someone use his address and come to find out, the packages contained illegal drugs. Are you crazy or what?! Stop corresponding with this person, and stop letting her/him use your address!

I am sure if she worked for the US Gov she wouldn't have so much time to meet people on myspace. I seen something close to this on Dr. Phil. This lady met someone on yahoo chat and he said he was from Buffalo NY and worked in some place out of the country. Long story short, he belonged to one of the nigerian scams. Do you know anything more then just her address? Do you have her phone number, have you spoke to her on the phone? Why is she having her packages sent to you and having you ship them to her? Sounds weird to me.

Look strange. If she works for the US Gov. I don't think she' ll need your address.
But be careful, you can have a lot of problem that can ruin your life for ever, and for what? For a lady that maybe doesn' t not exist?
And by the way, what' s in the packages......

unfortunately there is no way to tell that i know of. you made a mistake by giving out your address, but dont give any more personal information out. as long as you're not trying to get into a relationship with her or wanting to meet her then you should be fine. internet relationships are a bad idea believe me.

If you really want to know and have some of her info you can go online to one of those people finder websites and pay for a profile with her job/residence history, etc.

It just sounds a bit odd... she might be legit, but why would she be using someone that she knows only off the internet to have her packages and mail sent to and then forwarded?
Be careful!
