Cults are religions, they are just not 'mainstream' religions. Atheists do not have a religion, they don't worship deities.
It really is that simple, why look for something complicated where no complication exists?
As an atheist, I can tell you that there is no god, devil or spirit realm, etc. What you believe is your choice, perhaps you should examine religion and religious beliefs more closely, you might then see some of the inconstancies in it. Until then just accept that many people are perfectly happy without any of the many 'gods' and 'demons' that religion conjure up.

Religions of any ilk are beliefs. Atheists as you know believe that God does not exist for example and there are no higher beings which are supreme to all of us. They dont worship, but believe in the absence of a God.

It is therefore not a cult, but a valid belief just like any other religion and forms part of the overall debate.

A cult is define by formal rituals needed to carry out the ceremony.

Therefore, atheism is a creed, but not a cult.

No. All cults have gods. Atheism is simply a non-belief in God and religion. It is a non action. Faith is an action.

I am an atheist, and who you calling a cult!
But seriously, atheism is not any kind of an organisation, you dont have to donate money to ex-Science Fiction writers, and you dont have to go to any meetings. So no, it's not a cult.

Atheism entails, minimally, the disbelief[1] in the existence of any deities.[2] It is contrasted with theism, the belief in a God or gods. Atheism is commonly defined as the positive belief that deities do not exist, or as the deliberate rejection of theism.[3][4][5] However, others define atheism as the simple absence of belief in deities[6][7][8] (cf. nontheism), thereby designating all agnostics, and people who have never heard of gods, such as newborn children, as atheists as well.[9][10] In recent years, some atheists have adopted the terms strong and weak atheism to clarify whether they consider their stance one of positive belief (strong atheism) or the mere absence of belief (weak atheism).[11][12][13]

Many self-described atheists share common skeptical concerns regarding supernatural claims, citing a lack of empirical evidence for the existence of deities. Other rationales for atheism range from the philosophical to the social to the historical. Although atheists tend toward secular philosophies such as humanism, rationalism, and naturalism, there is no one ideology or set of behaviors that all atheists adhere to.[14][15][16]

In Western culture, atheists are frequently assumed to be irreligious or non-spiritual.[17] However, some religious and spiritual beliefs, such as several forms of Buddhism, have been described by outside observers as conforming to the broader, negative definition of atheism due to their lack of any participating deities.[18][19] Atheism is also sometimes equated with antitheism (opposition to theism) or antireligion (opposition to religion), despite many atheists not holding such views.

No. It is simply a term that describes a person that does not believe in a deity or deities. Are people who do not believe in the tooth fairy a cult? Of course not.

No. In religion and sociology, a cult is a term designating a cohesive group of people (generally, but not exculsively a relatively small and recently founded religious movement) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be outside the mainstream or reaching the point of a taboo.
