Well I finally got up the courage to ask a girl out and what happens. I get my hopes up when she says yes and then she gives me the run around for about two weeks and now she says she's going back to her ex. I honestly think I'm destined to be alone forever. Stuck being miserable for the rest of my life. What she doesn't understand is that it was so hard for me to ask her out. If she would have actually went out with me it would have been a year and a half since the last time I've went out with a girl. The last was my ex. She was my first girlfriend and she tore out my heart. So now I'm 19 going on 20 and I'll problably be alone forever. It's not like I just go around asking out every girl that I think is beautiful. It just so happened I thought she was interested in me and she was hinting to me to ask her out. She is the first girl I ever asked out. My ex asked me out. I was 17 at the time. I'm doomed aren't I?

Thanks for all the encouragement but it's hard to have fun when you have no friends and all you do is go to school and work. I feel like I'm 30 stuck in a 19 year old body. I'm always depressed. And to the girl that said I'm desperate. You couldn't be more wrong. If I was desperate I'd go bar hopping looking for some sad soul like myself to meet. You don't know what you're talking about.

wow yea it takes alot of courage to hold all this feeling for someone and then ask them out. what is really bad is that she said yes then turned back on u. im very sorry. i guess its part of life and such. just forget about her and move on. ur not doomed there are more fish in the sea. just give it time ur only 20. u have lots of time. good luck :)

No, you're not doomed. You just need to put yourself out there more. Rejection is a part of life. It can't all be roses and candy.
I'm also a shy guy at heart, but I've had many girlfriends (some very serious, some not). I had a four-year relationship go sour and lost my fiance, but you get over thngs and move on. It's part of being an adult. Two months later, I met my now wife.

You are not destined to be alone. Your only almost 20. You may feel like your doomed but guess what....your not. Love and relationships are difficult until you find the one that is meant to be. Have fun with your life dont be focused on finding love. Let things happen as they will. Someone will come into your life when you least expect it. Be the best you that you can be.

Why does being single have to be miserable? You are going about this entirely the wrong way. So one girl shot you down. Whoop-de-doo man, its not a big deal. You're going to give up just like that? What about the girl that is going to say yes that you're going to go on to have a great relationship with? You're going to deprive yourself of that just because one stupid beeyotch shot you down? Pick yourself up by your bootstraps brother. You are a man and that alone is something to be proud of. Hold your head high and if some woman tries to shove it in the dirt, show her up by getting back up, wiping the mud off your face and throwing it back at her. you seem like a real genuine person & i believe that any girl would be lucky to have you. and you're not destined to be alone forever.. you'll find someone right for you one day, and you're only 19. so you have the rest of your life to find the perfect girl that would treat you right.

Your pitiful, you been miserable with a girl and without. Get it straight you cant others to make you happy. Happiness has to come from inside you. You are freakin young, the world is not going to end because a girl shot you down. Stop feeling sorry for youself and enjoy your life. Your an easy target for a girl that wants to manipulate a guy.

awwww! noo way!! sounds like you're kinda desperate... whatever you really are - its really obvious to girls, so be less desperate and more confident and have more self esteem
worry less about getting a date and focus more on the other things you like to do - the more you enjoy your life on your own, the more it will show in your face and the more attractive you will become to women
join more clubs that YOU like, do stuff YOU like and go places YOU like - don't worry about what others think - you'll definitely meet someone who has things in common with you and sees you in a more meaningful way than others
