We have had a stray Tom cat in our yard for a couple of months now. He gets in big fights with our 5 cats, who dont even leave our yard. He has injured out cats several times and sprays all over around our house. We went to humane society to get a live trap to catch him..and he walked by and snubbed all the wet foods we would put in there. We always have food and water in our garage for our cats...and leave it open so they can go in and out as well as inside our house. Since this cat has been tormenting us we have been keeping the garage shut up... and the cats have become depressed. About a week ago we started opening it up again and I notice the stray sneaking in there. I saw the cat go into the garage today..and I ran outside and shut the door. So now..this cat is locked in our garage with one of our cats. We went in the garage to figure out how to capture this cat and he is WILD!
HOW DO we catch him...???

Our garage is really messy and cluttered so step dad doesnt want to call the humane society and have them in there.

We tried throwing a blanket over him but this cat is NUTS, running back and forth jumping up the walls, knocking over EVERYTHING in sight.

We feed our cats once in the morning and once at night, they usually empty the bowls... we dont really "free feed" them.

Yu need to get a THICK blanket or towel. Throw it over him (have a cat carry cage open and ready) pick him up and dump him and the towel/rug into the cage and take him to the animal shelter.

The answer is to stop free-feeding your cats (leaving food out all the time). Feed them twice a day in measured amounts - just enough for them to eat in one sitting and then pick up the food dishes. Also, if possible, move the food into the house. It is actually healthier for your cats to feed them this way (less chance of obesity or spoiled food) and it avoids problems with strays and wild animals such as skunks getting in your garage. It will be an adjustment for your cats, but they will adjust. And the stray will leave when the food supply is gone.

Open the garage door and let him..go. He has learned his lesson and maybe will stay away.. He might belong to someone, have you asked your neighbors? Wild cats carry diseases because they have not been vaccinated. You really should keep him away from your cats. I would let him go and keep calling the humane society

If he doesn't seem like he could become friendly with you, maybe he will go in the trap when he gets hungry enough. It sounds like he is really scared so you would not want to try to corner him and grab him. You might just have to let him out or he will be spraying in there more than he usually does.

Sorry approximately that. i think you are able to no longer seize her/him, meaning the cat would possibly no longer be that harm. often, they do heal on their very own, yet once you do seize the cat take him/her to the vet for remark. next time be greater care-finished once you open the storage door, cats desire to disguise in the garages. sturdy success.
