I want to lose 20 lbs - quick, like in 4 weeks quick. I had lost nine pounds, but after gofing off, gained 3 of them back. Now I've decided that I will jog, do 40 push ups and 40 crunches, along with 40 sit ups. Will this help me?

of course. any additional amounts of physical exercise will help you to lose weight. 20 pounds in 4 weeks is equal to about 5 pounds a week you want to lose. that's a lot of weight to lose per week so you may not see the results you want as fast as you want, but stay on it! eventually you'll get there.

Although what you said you would do is great, you also need to eat healthy. You should do the following:

1) Drink water ONLY.

2) Instead of eating three big meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) eat 5+ small meals throughout the day. If you eat three big meals, it'll take longer for your metabolism to digest the food ultimately making your metabolism slower.

3) If you check online, there are many websites that say how many calories you're supposed to consume on a daily basis. Check what yours is and try and stay below it.

The thing with dieting is that you have to keep this lifestyle forever. If you stay healthy to lose the weight and then go back to your old habits, you will gain weight again.

But PLEASE do not become annorexic/bulemic.
It is disgusting and you'll look like s**t.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

If you do this fitness regime daily, or at least every other day, it will definitely help. Try to jog for an hour and do intervals of jogging and running. It would be good if you could do uphill jogging as well.

Make sure you limit your fats/oils, sugars and carbs intake. Try not to have more than 2 cups of carbs a day. Also, watch out for fat, try and limit yourself to 15 grams a day. Be careful with snacking, if you have serious cravings for chips or sweet foods, Pringles fat free chips have no fat and are 70 calories a serving, and if you have a sweet tooth, Quaker Oats have reduced calorie cereal bars and Special K bars are tasty. Also, for desserts you can get sugar free Sorbet, low fat frozen yoghurt (Ice Cream section in department stores) also for chocolate cravings Jello fat free chocolate pudding can help. It might not be as delicious as a real chocolate bar, but it's better than nothing and is about 50 calories a cup.

Special K diet is not a bad way to loose a few pounds quickly, I did it and so did my husband and we lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks without any strenuous workouts.

There are many websites where you can find fat free and low fat recipes to help you diet. If you google fat free recipes you will have many options.

Also, drink Green Tea without sugar during the day to help with the weight loss.

Good luck!

What you are doing is bulking up...meaning you are building muscle mass. That might even make you heavier because muscle is heavier than fat.

It is not safe to lose 20 pounds in a month.
I personally don't believe in dieting. I believe in a healthy life style choices that last a lifetime. .

Eat three healthy balanced meals a day. and at least three small snacks in between meals. These snacks would be things like a medium size apple that is about 100 calories.
Watch your portion of foods. Americans tend to supersize everything, then complain because their bodies are supersized.

Walking, swimming, skipping rope, or running- are good exercises for increasing your metabloism and using up calories.

The Atkins diet is often good for rapid weight loss, but produces ketones that are gotten rid of via your kidneys.
It is not good for a long term, but a short period of time.

Jenny Craig is a great way to learn to eat and exercise.

Along with your exercising

Losing weight slowly is the best way to lose & keep it off. 'Tis said that losing 2 to 3 lbs. a week is plenty. Eat healthy, exercise, (walking briskly, is just fine) & despite what someone before me told you, drinking water is "not heavy" & you need to drink it, as it flushes out the impurities from your body & it will aid in weight loss also. Your body needs water & rule of thumb, to measure a safe amount per day, is to take your body weight, & half of what your weight is, is what you can drink in ounces each day. You'll feel a big difference when you are drinking your water daily. Green tea is also helpful in losing weight & is healthy to drink daily, but make sure it is in leaf form. I brew green tea in my coffee pot daily, measuring out a well rounded spoonful of tea, to the filter basket, add cold water (10 to 12 cups) brew & either drink hot or iced. You will need a little bit of Splenda or lemon in it, as it has a blah taste. It will keep you going to the bathroom a lot while drinking it but that's what it's supposed to do. Green tea can be found on the internet. The "Gunpowder" green tea is what I drink & have been doing so for many years. It also contains antioxidants, which thwart off some types of cancers. I lost 130 lbs. in just under a year, by doing what I just mentioned, so it can't be all that bad. Yes, I have kept the weight off!!!!!!! Stay focused & be determined to succeed. Good luck!!!!

exercise always helps, however it might also put weight on you because of muscle building. I suggest you walk instead, slow way down on drinking liquids, stay off of all sugar (including diet drinks and soft drinks and fruit drinks and anything else that has sugar or no sugar in it...and switch to a couple of cups of water per day). Eat less than 1300 calories per day and take vitamin supplements. Probably you ate over 1300 calories per day (and didn't reduce your food intake) and that's why you regained the weight, or you drank a lot of water, but water is heavy, and if you had salt with that the salt would help you keep the water inside and you'll weigh more. Sure you need a tad of iodized salt to keep you healthy, but not a lot, and salt is in everything we eat today.

These things with a sensible diet plan will definitely help you out with the weight loss... but instead of "going off" it ... you should look at how you can permanantly change bad eating habits and find things that will keep you active every day. Yo-Yo ing can be worse for you than actually being overweight. You can find ways to maintain a healthy weight and have a happier, healthier lifestyle =) Best of luck to you... just keep up the hard work

You definately have to exercise in order to lose weight. You should lose no more than 2-3 pounds a week, otherwise you will gain it back and more. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you will reach your goal.
