I find that i am completely clueless at dating? I have been on three or so dates since my ex and i broke up, i spent 2 1/2 years with him, so dating is kinda odd for me. I hear so many things like, always let the guy pay. Then i hear, if you are the invitee you pay. Any tips on dating?I'm going out tonight so quik tips please! :)

Hey there!

I was browsing the dating questions, saw your question, and thought that I would contribute.

Well, being a gentleman from the south, I am a firm believer in the man paying for the date.

However, a great deal has changed in the dating market recently. Nowadays, when people just begin the dating process, the bills are usually split. Then, once couples have dated for a while, it either migrates to alternating paying or for the person with the highest income paying the most. =)

As a dating consultant, I will honestly tell you that there is no fixed rule. For each couple, the dating experiences and paying situation is different. I knew one couple that saw getting the check as a competition!

Since you're getting back into the dating market, it may be better for you to actually slowly check the temperature of the water before you jump in.

I always recommend to people to check out the online dating sites that are out there. In fact, I have included one of the newer sites below that I highly recommend. It is extremely user friendly and even allows its new members to have a free trial period!

Getting out there and chatting with other members for a while will help you to get over the jitters of putting yourself back into the dating market, and will also allow you to filter through people based upon likes, dislikes, as well as common interests, without having to find out you have nothing in common on the date!

Just be nice and listen and you get the idea how the date goes as to who pays, for me, if the date stinks, I make her pay half, what do I care, I am not gonna see her again. If it goes well, I pay, if it goes really well, she pays and pays and pays for sticking with me, (insert evil laugh here).

Seriously though, it really depends on the type of person you are dating, I have been sneered at for paying when I went out with a feminist and gawked at for not paying when I went out with an old fashioned gal.

You shouldn't just let the guy pay. Instead, insist that you can pay for yourself. If he continues on about it, give up and say you'll pay next time. It doesn't matter who invited who, you should be nice to him more than you expect him to be nice to you.

i just wanna say good luck dear!!!

to be honest the only reason to felt that way cuz it just mean that you haven't find the right person to replace ur ex.

not blame ur self if you dont...remember were not supposed to find for love...let love find us!!!

i was in the same situation like u dear....a month ago(ACTUALLY ITS BEEN A YR NOW SINCE WE BROKE UP)..until 2/3weeks ago i met this guy.....we click that fast....his so different compared to my ex...which is I think its good for me right??

plus now i learn my lesson before i'll be in a relationship again i need to avoid doing same mistakes that i did before...

i hope everything will turn out fine in your date tonight....if ever it didnt dont worry one day u'll find the RIGHT PERSON!!!

ALSO BE READY TO TAKE THAT RISK CUZ IF YOU DONT IT JUST MEAN YOUR LIMITING UR SELF TO FIND "MR. RIGHT????"

GOOD LUCK
