that in 10 minutes, a hurricane releases more energy than all the world's nuclear weapons combined...
Ahhh, the power of God... Is that awesome or what? :-)

I didn't make that up you jerks it's true. And how it relates to God is that God is in everything on this Earth. And I'm not lacking compassion when I say that God did want New Orleans gone.. it was a place of sin. It's just too bad that there were some good people there at the time.

I do not see where god comes into this. Besides that is not very impressive. There are things out there that are by far more impressive. Like the fusion of 20 million tones of hydrogen into helium every single second in the core of the sun. Or a super nova exploding and releasing as much energy as 100 billion stars in a few seconds. Ahhh the power of quantum Physics.

Well 1), that's utter bollocks. The power of all the world's nuclear weapons combined would leave the world a smouldering uninhabitable crumb of ash. Hurricanes are bad news, but you SERIOUSLY underestimate the power of nuclear weapons if you think a bad storm is comparable.
2) We understand weather, thanks to science. Shifts in air pressure and the ways in which the temperature of the sea in equatorial regions causes uplifts in air currents cause hurricanes, not God. If you want to respond, "Ah, but what causes those changes in air pressure to create such awesome weather?!" I would reply, "Why are the weather systems on Venus and Saturn so much more impressive and violent than anything on Earth when there is no-one to see them?"
Did you know... anything?

No not awesome ridiculous. No a hurricane does not do that. That is a lie. Though Hurricane Catrina tore at New Orleans for hours and caused devastating damage it was no where near the damage cause by one Atomic bomb on Hiroshima. You simply want to attribute too much to God. You will be cast into Hell for such lying statements.

Sooooo, does that mean that nuclear weapons are fine because hurricanes go off on a regular basis and don't destroy the world?
That's misleading because weather is huge, and the energy is over a very large area.
I mean, nothing against God, but I don't like seeing "God" and "nuclear weapons" in the same sentence.
That's not a very uplifting thought.

Perhaps but it doesn't compare to the mass destruction created by a nuclear bomb. A hurricane may demolish a small number of random houses and flood a small area, but the deaths caused directly by the twisters and rain from a hurricane don't even begin to compare to the total annihilation of organic matter in ground zero of a single nuclear bomb.
Galveston Hurricane of 1900: 6000-12000 dead
Hiroshima bombing, "Little boy": >90000 killed instantly and as many as 50000 more killed by radiation.

Not to the people going through it. Why don't you ask the people who survived Katrina if it was awesome? You could have said "What a glorious sunset"......Compassion and good intentions go a long way.

A hurricane has nothing to do with an imagined deity.
In ten minutes, one angry fundementalist releases more venom than a sack full of cobras, but we don't attribute that to god either.
Ahhh, the power of words... Are they awesome or what? :-)
