Now a days a wedding is all about the couple. It use to be that a wedding was formal, often a business arrangement not just an offical coupling or an arrangement between two people.

There are traditions that would say off white or ivory, but it's your wedding. It's not a business deal, and the old symbols and nice, but your own private symbols and the ones that will have the most meaning. In 25 years at your anniversary party, the color of your dress won't be your as fond a memory as the special symbol that are you unique to the couple.

There aren't the same sort of traditions for second weddings -- your mother isn't going to freak if you want to wear a tasteful rose suit. Or grey. Or ivory.

A lot of women wear something in an off-white -- it tends to look better with older skin, white is too bright. Less frilly and little princess girly.

Friends of mine did medieval, all rich, deep velvets, it was spectacular. Use the freedom to do whatever you want.

These days the bride wears whatever she wants regardless of the number of times she is getting married. All brides that get married in white are not virgins, and all brides do not wear white anymore. It is simply a matter of personal preference. Do what makes you feel good, it is your day. Be the princess that you think you are. God bless****

She can wear whatever color she wants. There are no hard and fast rules. I've known brides who wore white for their 3rd wedding.

When my girlfriend remarried she wore a white wedding gown, it had buttons going down the middle of it and she had a blue satin ribbon under the row of buttons to match the guys tuxs. She was told that it was appropriate because the gown was not completely white. You can wear any color that you want.

Good Luck.

that's any shade you like and seems sturdy on you. i've got seen photos of severe-score baby-kisser's spouse in a quick colored gown at a small casual wedding ceremony. people lose interest of white each and all of the time besides, even for first weddings.

The white dress is a symbol of joy, not virginity. That's the veil. So white IS appropraite... but she should wear whatever color she wants.

Ivory or light blush. That's what is traditional, but I think nowadays, people wear what they like, especially if you didn't have a traditional white wedding the first time around.
