keep in mind on that episode, she did say that ice cream thing was to served 4 people and was not a single serving. And really the only thing that probably cannot be substitutred for more healthy alternatives was the frosting. You can get fat free frozen yogurt, fat free cool whip, etc.
And last time I checked her show was not a health show, although if you plan your ingredients carefully you can make substitutions. i.e. using non fat frozen yogurt for the real ice cream, using turkey instead of beef on the chili fries, whatever. Healthy food is what you make of it. And by the way, turkey bacon is not a bad option and weight watchers even recommends using it if you really want bacon.
If you want to have more healthy options, watch Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger, Calorie Commando or Low Carb & Lovin' It instead.
Sandra's show is about showing us how to entertain and create foods with that wow factor that don't make you sit and slave away in the kitchen. You actually get to enjoy the party.
I actually feel that Rachel Ray is a worse offender in the "healthy food" category. While her food is definately tasty, most of it is not the slightest bit healthy and her portion sizes are for giants. I usually have to half or even quarter almost everything I make from her show because it is made for an army.

She doesn't really focus on healthful eating, she's more into like party ideas and fun things for kids.
However, she may not always use healthy things!! I would say it's a special show for her when she's making something HEALTHY!:)
She is kinda cheesy, but she has some great shortcut tips every now and again. I like to watch it when I'm home from work to see if I can get any cool ideas to put into my own recipes. I never follow her recipes, only incorporate her ideas into mine...I'd be 300 pounds if I followed her recipes!!!!
Yeah, she is funny, bacon is a great source of protein...NOT!!!!!!

She isn't healthy, but like the name says it's "Semi-Home Made", so she uses a lot of fast cooking foods, or already made foods. Those tend to not be the most healthy things to pick, but I guess it's everything in moderation. Sometimes it's okay to splurge a little, but don't eat her food every day! (I think she may have some healthier options, but not many. . .)

Have you seen how progressively and disgustingly obese Paula Dean has become on her FoodNetwork TV show?
Do you think these people are really concerned about making recipes that are good for you? None of those cooks on that show cook anything that's good for you because people don't want to eat stuff that's good for them. You can say till you're blue in the face how people shouldn't eat red meat, but people still eat it in droves, etc.
And making stuff that's good for you isn't good for presentation appeal. Remember this is television, not a nutritionists office in Bisbee, Arizona
Overall you people need to stop dissin' Sandra Lee. She's the classiest cook on there. Her and David Lieberman.
So what if she matches her outfit to the curtains, plates, tablecloth, centerpiece, etc.. At least she knows how to.
The other fat slobs on there would be fine walking on the set with food spilled all over their apron with their nightclothes and slippers and unkept hair, sleep mucous encrusted on their eyes and all.

Sandra Lees thing is semi-homemade cooking. She uses partly store bought products and tries to put a home-made twist on it. Usually her recipies are pretty simple and quick, but being she uses store bought products they are often fattening and not as healthy as completety home-made.

Yep, that's the way she always is. If you want to find something else annoying about her, notice how she matches her clothes to the kitchen and curtain and plates.
However, sometimes she does have good ideas....but she's still annoying. Like Rachael Ray.
