The simple answer:
Loans you have to pay back.
Grants and Scholarships you don't

The more complex answer:
In the long run you end up making more money than you pay back so it is definately worth it.

grants no loans yes. If you live in California try applying for BOGG its a state based financial aid and most people get the aid even those who didn't get any grants :) it pays for your classes you just have to pay for books and whatever your school charges for like driving passes and food. TRY BOGG IF YOU DONT GET FIN AID . Try to stay away from loans if possible. if you have any questions email me.

u don't pay any money back because the money is given to u for college since u cant afford to pay all that money...u only pay back loans

but if u look at it taxes in the 1st place pay for government grants
