No. You are under no obligation to "do" anything for his birthday since you're no longer a couple. You broke up with him, you did it for a reason. If you should run into him, wish him a happy day and then keep going by and go on to do your own thing.

You'll caused more pains if you even show up or give him a present. Once you folks have decided to break-up, cut all communications and move on. This is short-term pain and long-term gain. It serves no one any good clinging on when its over.

You broke up with him.Just remember why did what you did.No one makes that choice with out a good reason.Leave him alone,he'll be alright.It will hurt him more if you contact him on it.It will make him remember that you know him and still broke it off...
