if you are willing to work you could do all kinds of things. the easy ideas are mowing lawns, washing cars, but you could offer to clean out garages, clean out basements, attics, that kind of thing. the only thing i would caution you on is to make sure you know the people whose home you are going into and to make sure your parents know where you are going at all times. perhaps ask your parents if you could purchase an inexpensive cell phone so they could keep tabs on you and you could call them if you run into a problem. the idea might make your parentsfeel a little easier about you being away from the house so much while you are working.
also do you have lots of dogs in your neighborhood? offer not only to walk them, but offer a pooper scooper service! and a dog washing service! many people work all week and would be happy to have someone come in to their yard once or twice a week and pick up after their dogs!
offer to pick up mail and newspapers when people are away on holidays. if you have some older people in the neighborhood they may be willing to pay someone to come in and do the vacuuming once a week, or wash windows!
also what about offering to not only mow lawns, but weed gardens? or rake leaves in the fall.
turn yourself into parttime year-round landscapers, offer to mow and weed in the spring and summer, rake leaves in hte autumn, and shovel snow in the winter. i know i would be happy to sign a contract with young entrepreneurs such as yourselves. it would be wonderful to have a confirmed deal with someone to do all these outside chores!

all these little jobs could add up to a good wage for the summer, good luck with it, but dont forget to leave lots of time for play..........after all you are kids.......and you need to enjoy being a kid! soon enough you will be adults with adult responsibilities, but i applaud your willingness to try!

When my son was 10 and 11 years old he made money by asking people we know if he could help with odd jobs. Help with yard work etc.

You have to be careful, but there are a lot of older/retired people who will pay well for pulling weeds and mowing the lawn. I always talk to the person for my child and if I don't know the person well, my child is absolutely not allowed to go into their home.

You should go to a library or book store and look in the business section. Ask the librarian what things can be done by children to make cash. I have heard stories about children investing and getting involved in non-profit organizations that help them to become young business minded people. This boy for example had his own business by the time he was 12 and their are many other stories with younger aged children succeeding business wise. So if you want this for your children or someone else, go for it. Your children can be capable of great things with your love and support.

Ask your parents if there's any special chores you can do around the house for money. Ask around with your neighbors. If all else fails, just save money you get for your birthday/Christmas/other holiday until you have enough money for whatever it is you want to buy.

you don't need to worry about making money. just worry about having fun. you'll have to work every day soon enough. you don't need money at your age anyways.
