Not really, folks just burn the lights in the moring rather than in the evening. Daylight savings time saves neither daylight, time or energy. Moving the date forward was nothing but a symbolic act. Congress should have abolished the nonsense.

If the sun is out longer hours when most people are awake, then they will need to use the lights in their homes less. That's the biggest reason it can save energy.

Gives more day light hours...It was first used by farmers to give them more time out in the fields
