That takes you into defining God(s)!
Is the Taoist's *Way* really just a form of impersonal God similar to the deist's *Blind Watchmaker?"
Is Gaia or all the other non Gods just various versions of *God lite* ?
The question really is not askable without understanding what is meant by the word "God"
sorry for such a lame answer.

From a Christian perspective, we are all spiritual beings in that we have a body, a soul, and a spirit, so technically, everyone is spiritual.
To make a crass comparison, consider that a person can be a sexual person all by themselves, and discover a lot about themselves sexually... but how BORING.. selfish, small minded, small hearted and messy..
But once let a person get somewhat of a revelation of the unspeakable beauty, wonder, and kindness of God, and the LAST thing they would want is to be without GOD. Get a glimpse of God, and you will be totally disinterested in 'spirituality' and totally obsessed with God himself - and the high and holy love between God and people.

To be born of the Spirit, you need God.
Rebelling against God, Gods Love & Truth, causes spiritual blindness/ death. So, a person is spiritually blind & deaf, separate from God spiritually.
You also may be thinking of the soul of a person. The soul of a person is the person inner being. When a person is born of God, a spiritual birth happens and the spirit blends with the persons soul in the body. The soul can seek spirits and contact spirits in cult activities, but they still need to be born of the spirit to be truly spiritual.

My personal experience weren't to find God, but to understand the root of my existence.
I discovered, and later lost, my spiritual connection. What it is though is like understanding everything at once. If you can accept the idea of us existing spiritually outside of time then you could understand how this is done. There is no past, present, or future in spirituality. We are spiritual beings having a physical existence. We are existing right now in the spiritual world as much as in the physical, but cannot see because the physical world tends to cover us from seeing it. When our physical bodies die we are left only with our spiritual existence.
I tried to see if there was a God, but couldn't find any. The best that I could find though was a great deal of energy that we seem to draw from. Maybe that's God.

~ What is your definition of spiritual?
~ I am a Born Again Christian... I've been to Israel twice... I love the Jewish people... God's chosen... I know that Jesus Christ was a Jew... I know that he was the Messiah that the Jews rejected... and have been waiting for... when and if they realize that Jesus Christ was and Is their Messiah, will they better understand being spiritual.
~ If, then, you are a Jew... and you believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth... whom we call Jesus... or the Jews call Yeshua... is the Messiah, and is both your savior and the resurrected Jewish Messiah... would you BEGIN to understand how we Christians love the Jews... for without the Jews, we would not have had Jesus Chirst of Nazareth.
~ Watch the movie... The Passion... to get a feel of the Jesus Christ that is in most of our hearts... however, the punishment He took for our sins was in NO way depicted strong enough... it would have been so much worse to see in person!

Personally? No. I don't think spirituality is all about God. Spirituality is all about what is within, what the inner represents... which may be all about the search of meaning, embracing of certain values, experiencing of a transcendence beyond self, connection with self or God or others, or simply reflection and/or meditation.
Believing in God is a one of the *expressions* or outward expressions of spirituality.

I see spirituality as the link between yourself and everything/everyone around you and your comfort level with yourself. I don't think you have to believe in a deity to be a spiritual person.

There is no way to be spiritual without God. You can be religious without God, but definitely not spiritual. God is Spirit. He created everybody and everything. When people are spiritual, they are in some kind of way connecting with God.
