“Domestic violence causes far more pain than the visible
marks of bruises and scars. It is devastating to be abused by
someone that you love and think loves you in return. It is
estimated that approximately 3 million incidents of domestic
violence are reported each year in the United States.” Dianne Feinstein

“Domestic violence does not only happen to adults. Forty percent of girls age 14 to 17 report knowing someone their age who has been hit or beaten by a boyfriend, and approximately one in five female high school students reports being physically and/or sexually abused by a dating partner.”
Dianne Feinstein

"Although I haven't experienced violence in a relationship, I know that two women every week in England and Wales are killed by their partner or ex-partner, and that unless we act now, many more women will die because of domestic violence. We must speak out now against all forms of domestic violence, not only physical abuse but also the emotional, sexual and financial abuse which means that many women are afraid to be at home with their partner." JEMMA KIDD

"I've never really thought about domestic violence before, it seemed to be something that didn't affect people my age, but it really does - there are many women in their late teens and early twenties who have either experienced violence in a relationship or have witnessed it at home in their childhood. I wanted to take part in this campaign to raise awareness of the fact that domestic violence can affect anyone, whatever their age or background." MIQUITA OLIVER

here is a couple of quotes for you. the last two are actual women stories (http://www.womensaid.org.uk/landing_page.asp?section=000100010010000400080001)

I'm OK

Written by Christina Aguilera, Linda Perry
Once upon a time there was a girl
In her early years she had to learn
How to grow up living in a war that she called home
Never knew just where to turn for shelter from the storm

It hurt me to see the pain across my mother's face
Every time my father's fist would put her in her place
Hearing all the yelling I would cry up in my room
Hoping it would be over soon

Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
And every morning that I wake
I look back at yesterday
And I'm OK

I often wonder why I carry all this guilt
When it's you that helped me put up all these walls I've built
Shadows stir at night through a crack in the door
The echo of a broken child screaming, please no more
Daddy don't you understand the damage you have done
For you it's just a memory, but for me it still lives on

Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so, so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake
I look back at yesterday

It's not so easy to forget
All the marks you left along her neck
When I was thrown against cold stairs
And everyday afraid to come home
In fear of what I might see next

Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love you gave
And every morning that I wake
I look back at yesterday
And I'm OK

I'm OK

The cause of violence is not ignorance. It is self-interest. Only reverance can restrain violence - reverance for human life and the environment.” ~ William Sloan Coffin

"Marriage in modern times is regarded as a partnership of equals and no longer one in which the wife must be the subservient chattel of the husband. " ~ Lord Keith of Kinkel

“If you succumb to the temptation of using violence in the struggle, unborn generations will be the recipients of a long and desolate night of bitterness, and your chief legacy to the future will be an endless reign of meaningless chaos.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

"The only difference is that the stress and the violence is worse at home, because it happens younger, it happens at the hands of someone you love, and there is no recognition that this is the enemy." ~ Gloria Steinem

"How a society channels male aggression is one of the greatest questions as to whether that society will survive. That's why I am not against violence in the media, I am against the glorification of immoral violence.” ~ Dennis Prager

You could use almost anything from the song Face Down by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. "Do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?" or "Face down in the dirt, she said, 'This doesn't hurt.' She said, 'I've finally had enough.' " The song topped the charts at #3 so it's pretty famous.
