I believe so.

Years ago when I was a child, sometimes in my parents home while watching telly or reading.

My mum would get a little freaked out when she noticed that our two cats were sitting together staring at something as if it was coming from the door to the other end of the room (both turning heads slowly at the same time). Normally if they saw something they'd move their head quickly and chase it (ie bug).

That had happened a few times and we believe it was spirits.... as we did have a few strange things happen in my parents home. Nothing bad though just all a little freaky at times. haha.

When one of the cats died.... one evening in my room (with lights on), I saw a ginger cat's tail come into my room at the foot of my bed, I went down to reach the cat and stroke it but there was no cat to be seen. So I went downstairs and found the cats curled up in the front of the fire. My mum said that none of them had moved all night.

I am convinced it was one of our previous cats who had died.

Even the most relaxed cats can act strangely in a strange environment. I don't completely discount the possibility of rogue spirits, but as a natural skeptic, I generally don't believe in ghosts. My cat will chase or stare at things that do not seem to be there, but I always kind of had her pegged as half retarded. No offense meant, I really think she might have mental restrictions. A cat's behavior is unpredictable and changes with age. I think it's more likely that the cat has an optical illusion caused by light that they are chasing, or possibly catching a scent of something that we cannot smell. Cats are very perceptive and can pick up on almost anything. Ghosts, however, I tend to doubt.

There has been no absolute evidence that spirits or ghosts exist therefore I'm amazed at the amount of people who not only assume this to be a fact but also are confident that their pets see them.
Our cat is fascinated with one particular wall in the house. I can think of hundred more rational explanations to this than making the assumption we have posessed masonry.
If ghosts do exist then how will we be able to find out if cats see them? Your question cannot be answered in the affirmative or negative until there is some major breakthrough in not only paranormal sciences but also pet psychology.

Dogs can obviously see ghosts or else how do you explain Scooby-doo?

Yes they can. Haven't you ever seen a cat do a double take for no reason? Then when you look in the direction where the cat did the doubled take there's nothing there. That's when the cat has seen a ghosts or a spirit.

I have been asking myself the same thing the last couple of days. I recently moved to a new house. My cat who is usually very quiet and generally cant be bothered has started chasing nothing at all, running up and down the stairs and acting strange. I really think our new house must be haunted by a ghost cat. Mind you I really hope they cant as I worry the cats at my vets would get very frightened

In my home country, the old people have a superstition that cats (and dogs) can sense spirits when they are around. In the provinces of my home country, the old people use cats as "ghost busters" if they suspect a tree or house or earth mound is haunted by a spirit.

Basic Training of the Puppy - Read here https://tr.im/MXChN

The new puppy is certainly one of the most adorable and cuddly creatures that has ever been created. It is the most natural thing in the world to shower it with love and affection. However, at the same time it is important to realize that if you want to have a well trained adult dog, you need to begin the training process right away. The dog, like its related ancestor, the wolf, is a pack animal. One of the features of a pack is that it has a single dominant leader. Your new puppy is going to want that leader to be you, but if you do not assume that role from the very beginning, the puppy’s instincts will push him to become the leader.

The most important thing to remember about training the puppy during its first six months of life is that it must see you as the leader of the family pack. The essential thing is gaining the trust and the respect of the puppy from the beginning. You will not do this by allowing the puppy to do whatever it wants to do whenever it wants to do it. On the other hand, a certain amount of patience is required. Most people err in their early training by going to extremes one way or the other. Although you need to begin the basic training process at once, you can not expect your dog to do too much at first. Basic obedience training is fine and should include simple commands like sit, stay, and come. Remember that trying to teach the dog advanced obedience techniques when it is a puppy is much like trying to teach a five year old child algebra.

It is also important to restrain from cruel or abusive treatment of the puppy. You can not beat obedience into your dog, and it certainly is not going to engender feeling of respect and trust. House breaking is an area where this usually becomes a problem because of the anger that is triggered when the puppy fails and creates a mess inside the home. Although this issue must be addressed without anger, it most be addressed. If you allow the puppy to eliminate inside the house, it will continue to do so as an adult dog. The same thing is true of other destructive or dangerous behavior such as chewing and biting. Do not expect the puppy to grow out of it. You are going to need to train the puppy out of it, but you should do so firmly but with a sense of play and fun using positive reinforcement and lots of love and praise for good behavior.

Yes..and dogs too. we moved into an old church rectory, while our new home was being built. The whole family witnessed a "ghost" (or whatever) going up and down the stairs in the home. It would just turn and look at us and continue on it's way....the cat would hiss and run..the dog would stand an bark and come and sorta "crouch' around us when this would happen.....It was very weird and scarey...but it never did anything other than go up and down the stairs..but kept the animals in turmoil.....the family got used to it..like I said it never caused or acted in any way other than just going about it's "business"..whatever that was.

yes! My cat suddenly started acting weirdly and would not go in my daughters room she would hiss and growl and run away. she started sleeping on my bed which was unusual as she had never done so before, she became ill and nearly died, she spent 8 days at the vet and when she came home evereything went back to normal-my theory is a ghost cat came for her but ti wasnt her time to go! This happened b4 with her brother when he became ill with a serious illness we kept seeing a ghost cat jump out of the window down into the cat bed. it scared the hell out of us and when he recovered again things were back to normal!

There are a lot of people out there who don't believe in this, but i think they can. We have a 5 1/2 month old kitten. When we got her at Christmas we found that at a certain time of the night she would race around the house and jump onto one of our couches with her back arced and clawes bares. She would jump over something in the middle of the seat and stare at it. It really looked as though something was playing with her or tormenting her. My grandfather was a stirer and he loved to play and torment us grandkids. My Sister in law said she could feel there was a grandfatherly presence in our house and was having fun playing with our kitten. He keeps her company when we go away. Shes the only one who can see him and she will cuddle up on that couch by hersefl. Whenever we spray her with water if shes being naughty she goes straight to that couch. So yes, i think cats can see spirits, im not really into what happens after you die, but i take comfort in the fact that it could be my grandfather watching over us and doing what he does best.
