not really, as long as they're sharp. I wouldnt suggest regular sized scissors, I would use manicure scissors so you have better control

Dont start off to short, go straight across , a little lower than the length you want , when you get a straight length- then cut upwards for texture.

DO NOT USE SCHOOL SCISSORS TO CUT YOUR BANGS.
It will make the bottom of your hair very thick and very obvious that you cut it. Don't use scissors for any of your hair, at all. I cut my bangs all the time, and I use a razor (yes the ones for your legs and such), and it actually looks normal. My bangs just kind of fall into place, and look normal. Razors are also good for thinning your hair. Except last night I cut my hair too much the other night, so be careful.
