Except that only us atheists have any real ammunition. We have more ammo, because reality is richer in depth than shallow religious propaganda.

Because fundamentalists give them more ammo. It is as any argument between two extreme views. Neither believes anything the other says when in reality the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle. I believe it is such here. The true reality is that God lives and Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind. However, many atheists base their views on facts that are apparently in contradiction to the words of the Bible. When in fact, if people would try harder to reconcile the differences with the help of the Holy Spirit, I think they would come closer to the truth.

As a FreeThinker/Agnostic/Humanist I often times feel as if I am stuck in the middle of the two sides. I feel as if it's a battle between the Fundamentalist/Evangelical Atheists versus the Fundamentalist/Evangelical Christians. Now I know that not all Christians or Atheists are Fundamentalist/Evangelicals. But there are some who are. Neither side looks as if it's gonna back down anytime soon.

The fundementalist ammo is very weak: God is real, you will burn in hell etc etc. Slogans and circular logic. Also, the theist weapons were made centuries ago and have not been redeveloped (much) - it is like using slingshots against machine guns.

The atheist ammo is wide and varied and shows far greater knowledge and research. In addition the atheists are more imaginitive and mentally agile. This is quite amusing really, since you would think it is the theists that ought to have a better imagination.

Usually I 'side' with the atheists because they actually have arguments. Sometimes I do find myself disputing atheist arguments which really don't have enough ground to be considered valid. And on the odd occasion I find myself irrationally siding with the theists because sometimes you feel bad if you don't support the underdog.

Me. And the atheists have more ammo because they're closer to the truth than the fundamentalists. Sometimes i go over to the atheist camp and man the guns for a bit, but usually i just shelter in the middle.

nicely, in a feeling, you are able to desire to declare i'm in the midst of the "conflict", yet no longer completely. i'm an Agnostic, so the question of theory isn't as significant to me because of the fact the question of awareness. That being say, no longer understanding does no longer mean i'm no longer able to have faith or disbelieve. i do no longer think in any gods, so i'm nearer to the Atheists than the Theists, yet on the grounds that theory isn't clever while determining info, i'll adhere with being Agnostic.

Very very often. Even worse is that people are using the bad behaviors of people from different ideologies to justify their own bad behaviors. It is really stupid from all sides and sometimes turns this forum into a total waste of time. What a sad stupid thing to do. With so many people of varying beliefs present there is huge potential for learning from and about each other. Instead we get this mess. This forum is a refutation of the theory of evolution because it looks as if evolution is true, it has not happened yet. Peace be with you

War is an analogy I try to stay away from partly because I think that kind of talk can lead to the real thing.

Nonetheless the fundies escalated the struggle unilaterally and without provocation by deleting LJ2.

I'm still pissed but I can turn the other cheek. Can they?

I try to remain aloof, but I still state the best I've come to understand. Ammunition is useless against what's indestructible, but it does serve to shatter false things, and those attached the false feel hurt by it. Those who are united to the indestructible truth have no fears or pains, except to see others hurt.

May you remain unhurt by virtue of being in truth, and not mere self justifying which is prone to suffering.

The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out.
It's written, I'll turn conventional wisdom on its head, I'll expose so-called experts as crackpots.
So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn't God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense?
Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb--preaching, of all things!--to bring those who trust him into the way of salvation.

Normal Christians! Unfortunately, we seem to be in the minority here!!
Why do atheists have more ammo??
LOL! Atheists have more ammo, because the Fundies keep handing it to them.
My Granny once told me...if you don't want anyone shooting at you, don't hand them anhy ammunition.
Good advice, I only wish more people would follow it!!
