Does anyone else find this happens to them?

I got given a guys number and text him and we started texting and calling,to be honest although i liked him i wasn`t that interested but he seemed to be and told me he was,but he`s now been ignoring me and not called or text and i`m beginning to miss it a bit!

It`s as though when i know he`s interested,it puts me off and i dont know if he maybe thought i wasn`t interested and has lost interest himself.am i weird or is this common?

The reason i ask is i was with my first boyfriend for 6 years and he was my first serious relationship and i cant remember anything before him if you know what i mean, advice appreciated!

You are afraid of getting close to anyone. That is understandable, but it sounds like he tried to make an effort to move on to the next step and you didn't react the way he expected, so he protected himself by not texting you anymore.

You could do a final text, where you explain your situation, apologize for any miscommunications, and let him know what you would like to happen between you two. If he doesn't respond, then that would mean he has given up.

Good Luck!

I'm often the same. It always seems more exciting when the person you like isn't interested because it's a challenge to convince them to feel the same. Then as soon as they do, you're bored again. I don't think it means you're wierd, just maybe this guy wasn't right for you. You might only miss the text messages because now you're bored again. So don't worry about it, just have a good time and eventually somebody you really like will come along. If he's right for you you won't want to mess around with him, rather you'll want to start a proper relationship. Hope that makes sense :s
Ciao

I don't think you're actually liking this guy in that way. I think it's basically a case of you just missing the attention that you were getting, and without sounding rude, cos it's natural, you're ego was probably getting boosted (cos we need male/female affection from time to time) and now it's slightly dented as you know you weren't even all that into him at the start but now he's nowhere on the scene. Just hold tight, and if he contacts you then see how things go. You'll know pretty soon what type of feelings you got for him.

sounds normal enough to me - I've been known to miss the attention when guys I wasn't even interested in moved on to other interests. then I start to feel like maybe I liked him after all... but I get over it pretty quickly too; don't throw yourself at him unless you're sure it's more than just having liked the attention!

... on the other hand, my current bf (a really great guy) didn't attract me too powerfully when we first met... he was after me pretty stubbornly for a few weeks, I got to know him a bit better, then he got busy with other things for a few days; this time, it wasn't just missing the attention! so I made a move of my own - that was nearly 8 months ago, and I'm really glad I did it!

only you know what you're feeling, if anyone does! good luck!!

i think this is extremely common - its the old "treat em mean keep em keen thing", which alot of my single friends seem to get involved in - someone wants them and they're only vaguely interested, then as soon as the guy loses interest they want his attention again

but it's really no more than game playing - if you're only interested in someone when they lose interest in you you probably weren't that keen on them in the first place, you just enjoyed the attention

the dating game is hard to get back into after a long relationship. good luck, i hope you find someone you like!

I think it is cute that you think you may be weird. You are not weird at all. I think you have been with the other guy for so long that you forgot what it is like to feel wanted, and appreciated. So when this guy was interested in you, and texting you all the time you got something that you haven't felt in a while. So you are not weird at all for missing it. This is very common, and you will soon let it pass. You will be on to bigger better things. Good luck friend.

This is a common problem of wanting what you dont/cant have. Little kids show it when you take a toy out of a box that no one was playing with and give it to a visiting kid to play with. The owner has a fit. Not because they wanted it but because someone else had it.

We are just weird creatures like that.

all about the chase. and never a truer saying than you don't know what you got till you loose it. ring him or text ask to meet up you cant really have a relationship via text. and being with someone for 6 years your prob just over cautious

You need to make your mind up whether you are interested or not and tell the truth to the person you are in contact with. Face to face contact or exchanging photos will have a big effect on what you are trying to achieve.
