Of course. But gruesome acts sometimes justify a gruesome war. Bullies only understand force, and we are dealing with people who only understand violence and have no understanding of peace.

Yes it is extremely gruesome. It is easy to become desensitized to violence after going through it. No one comes back the same. However, it is something that must exist in order to preserve our way of life

Absolutely, and that is the way it should be. War should always be as unattractive as possible to keep us from entering into it lightly.

That said though, once at war, it should be fought fiercely, with overwhelming force, to hasten its end.
