It is not God's will that anyone would suffer but that we will accept the atonement that he provided. Those that want justice must have forgotten that justice is that we all have fallen short of the glory of God and perish. It is only by his mercy any of us are saved.

Don't you realize for the religious the idea of hell is like pay back. They get off on the idea of someone that doesn't believe as they doing being tortured forever.
It is a getting even mindset. There is no mercy or love in them because all they can see is hate and intolerance. It doesn't matter that their own Jesus said LOVE your enemies. Or FORGIVE those that hurt you. They not only don't see these things they down right ignore these ideas.
You do not need a hell for there to be justice. Life is all about cause and effect. The results you get from your actions will be positive or negative based on how your actions are. But Christians don't want to see this. They want to be able to hurt anyone they want then say Jesus forgive me and poof all is better.
However what none of them think about is based on their doctrine Hitler could be in Heaven if at the last second he would've asked JESUS to forgive him! Imagine that one Hitler in Heaven only because at the last second he accepted JESUS and all the evil he did was POOF wiped out!
Where would their justice be then?
It isn't about justice but vengence!

See, I don't see how there could be a hell if there's truly a loving god or whatever. Why do you spend eternity in paradise or pain just because of (at most) 100 years of good or bad deeds? That's why reincarnation makes sense. But really, I also think that people should believe whatever they want and not necessarily use a book to base their beliefs on, instead use it as a springboard for their own ideas. Because if a religion doesn't evolve with the times, it starts to become more and more hypocritical. Also, I don't think there's only 'one' right path to divinity. But anyways, why waste your life wondering what happens when you die? Just try to live a good life and you can't go wrong.

If people need a hell to believe in justice then Christianity is not for them. According to many Christians you can do any horrible act you want and if you profess your belief in Jesus and ask for forgiveness on your deathbed, then guess what? No hell for you. So, how does that equal Justice? If you have to spend eternity with people who did horrible things, because they saw the light at the end, how is that heaven?

I did not address your question but I and others addressed this same question from someone else. I think you'd be interested in the Bibles answer to this. (I assure you, it is not the responses you already got)

One reason people are so adamant about this is thier warped sense of justice. In their minds evil people need to suffer more than just non-existence. Like children who tattle on their siblings and smugly watch while they receive discipline or feel terribly disappointed when the parent is merciful, they insist that this fate awaits, not just the horribly evil like mass murderers and child molesters, but any who fail to acknowledge Jesus. If you are a parent think about this: How bad would your child have to be in order for you to punish him by placing his hand in a flame? Is the thought of this repulsive to you? It is also to God. (Jeremiah 7:31)

I hope you continue to believe in the Bible and continue to believe in a God who loves his children and is merciful. In his great mercy he has prepared places for all of us to live out eternity. Very few will actually suffer the fire and brimstone as an eternal hell.
Except for those very few who commit the unpardonable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, all will receive a reward greater than we can imagine in this life. Not that all receive the same reward as we will be rewarded according to our lives here on earth. Jesus truly said that in his Father's house there were many mansions. We will all receive a reward, a mansion, according to our how we live our lives here.

Hell was originally designed for Lucifer & the Angels who tried to overthrow God. It was never God's intent for any human to be there. It is my understanding that if, someone dies without accepting Jesus as their personal Savior that person will be condemmed to Hell. God doesn't ask just once, He keeps asking up until the time of death. FYI, I believe that the most horrible among us will be in heaven if they accepted Christ with their last breath. But this is just my personal understanding.

Well said. I think that you understand the Bible better than most people on the planet....well, what's left of it to be understood anyway. Isn't it amazing what some people will believe? Scary. Cheers.

Yup, essentially people want life to be a Disney movie, where the hero wins and the bad guy is punished. I say Disney for they would also edit out the naughty bits, "because of the children".

Hell... *chuckle* I believe more in Divine punishment... Karma in a sense if you will.... just because this guy Jesus supposedly forgave all your sins (I'm still not completely sold on it, sorry....) doesn't mean that you don't still have to atone for them... Everyone has sinned, and everyone will face the reality of their sins, and be truly ashamed and sorry for what they have done before Divinity says, "There, there, you're forgiven..." and lets you in for the reward for living a good life... if you lived a good life......
Then again, it could all be worm-food.... *shrug* either way, I'm ready.
