This is a big question because there are lots of strategies. Here are a few:
Wind pollination - no showy petals etc or nectar. Anthers hang out in the breeze and styles are also long and often feathery (to catch the airborne polen)
Insect pollination -- can be through offering pollen or nectar as a reward (beetles & bees). Moth pollination -- night-flowering white tubular flowers with strong scent
Bird pollination -- usually red, tubular flowers with nectar as reward
