My husband has been taking phentermine hydrochloride off and on for about 2 yrs. He is not overweight. He takes them because he says they give him energy. He takes a 37.5mg pill in the morning and then basically lives off of energy drinks the rest of the day. He eats a decent meal on occasion.

When he is NOT taking the pills, he is basically an easy going 35 y/o guy. After 11 yrs of being married we have managed to own our own business and have 3 great kids. Our life is overall fulfilling.

However, I always know when he starts taking the phentamine hydrochloride again, because within two or three days he gets irritable, hateful, and apathetic to me and pretty much the rest of the family. He's like Jekyll and Hyde!

He gets them off the internet with a "script" by a "Dr." that he has never seen.

I've asked his to stop taking them. I've looked up everything I can on the internet, but he says I'm "crazy" and the pills are not doing anything to him.

Absolutely these pills can cause his behavior.... they are similar to other amphetamines and you can find more info by widening your search that way.

He should STOP STOP STOP taking these. You should find them and throw them away. Turn in the name of his "doctor" to your state's attorney general office. He needs you and doesn't realize it.
