Try using greasproof paper cos margarine will just cook rather than grease the tin.

Warm the tin slightly, grease, then put some flour in, tap the tin to make sure it is covered and tip out any excess.
If that doesn't work use a circle of greaseproof paper in the bottom of the tin.
Allow the tin to cool for a minute or two after removing from oven.
It may also be the salt in the margarine that is causing the cake to stick, try using oil

I'd always grease with butter, not margerine. Also, it helps to put in a tablespoonful or so of flour after the butter, and dust it round the tin as an extra layer between the cake and the tin. If that doesn't work, then it's possible it was baked at too high a temperature.

A circle of baking parchment at the bottom of the tin also helps a lot.

I always grease the tin, then cover the bottom of the tin with greaseproof paper, then grease the greaseproof paper, finally a light covering of flour.

As the sponge cake cooks, it slightly shrinks from the side, so when cook, allow to cool down for a while, then gently turn out onto a cooling tray.

Agree with previous answer to used greasproof paper - grease tin as before then paper and then grease that too. Have to admit that you may need trial and error I find that to use a double layer of greaseproof paper or baking parchment helps.

Good Luck

The margarine will burn slightly and cause the cake to stick. When baking cakes like that, she needs to dust the margarine with flour to creat a separate layer for the cake to stick to. Then it should pop right out.
Hope you like KitKats!

grease and dust with flour - grease as normal put about a tablespoon of flour into tin and pat it so it covers all the greased area. then turn it upside down over the sink and whack it hard so all teh excess flour comes out. pop on your mix and into the oven - works every time for me.
least u had kit kat - damn nestle baby killers - why'd they have to make the tasiest choc..

too much sugar as a guess? grease and flour it lightly maybe...or use a snap ring type where the base pushes out when it is done....or use grease proof paper....that helps sometimes....but I would think them most likely culprit is the sugar content.

I found this too....

Never use butter, margarine or liquid vegetable oil--they will make your cake stick and possibly burn the surface.

Place a dish towel over cake and allow to cool at least one hour.

Did she grease the tin well with margarine?

Did the cake remain stuck?

Was she very upset?

She did give you a kit kat at the very least, didn't she?

That's alright, isn't it?

She should have used oil or cooking oil. Margarine burns, she may also want to try to coat the pan with a little flour.
