hi ~ I am getting married in VT at the end of July, and am stumped when it comes to picking a color for the bridesmaids dresses. We plan on using flowers in darker shades of purple/blue, and take pictures outside, where there will be lots of green. Does anyone have any reccomendations for maid's dresses in colors other than pink? Would brown work or would it be too dark for summer? THANK YOU!!!

Since you are using darker shades of purple and blue for flowers, the bridesmaids can go for a lavender or a pale blue so they compliment the flowers. As it is outdoors, you can also opt for a yellow / cream as long as your dress is not the same color. Another option that I always found flattering is using a light green. It is going to be outside, so the green dress will help emphasize the fact that its outdoors. Personally, brown is not a very "summer" color and brown also tends to not be very flattering outside. You want to look better than the bridesmaids but you don't want the bridesmaids to look ugly either. Personally, I think the best color for them would be a lavender.

Purple, blue and green; it sounds like a wedding straight from a Thomas Kinkade painting. What a perfect season to have a wedding, and what an enticing palette! Even a guy can appreciate the richness of that color combination.

I love brown, but think you should take advantage of the opulence of the available colors. You could also consider dresses in a patterned print of your colors.

Have a great wedding!

hey what's wrong with pink? just kidding, ok it isn't for you.

brown can be pretty if you do it in the right shade. VT is very leafy and green so the brown would be alright.

a soft blue, purple, red would be fine too. really it is your wedding and you can pick whatever you want as the color.

look in the bridal magazines for color ideas. i found the ads were a good place to find some nice color options.

Light Blue and Chocolate Brown. It is so in right now and perfect for a summer wedding. David's Bridal has some pretty bridesmaids dresses with those colors.

Well since you want to go with the dark purple and blue flowers I think that you should go with a light purple dress. It's very summery and will definitely go with the flowers and the pictures will be gorgeous especially with all the green. Good Luck!

Is she attempting to "ensue" at your wedding ceremony, or is she attempting to bypass alongside with the colour scheme? besides the fact that she wears, no person will pay interest to the mummy of the groom besides. sure, she would be in a position to be the photos yet they're going to look fantastic no matter what she is donning. i'm advantageous she is well-known with at 50 (this is how old i'm) that the bride and grooms mothers often gown very low key for the marriage.

brown would be okay as long as its not too dark. use a softer brown , tan, beige, sand, that family.
you could also use a shade of light green, blue, or purple to match the flowers.
