If I went there and preached, and taught them about Jesus and even converted some of them to Christianity, what do you think they would do to me?

I have a friend who is a missionary to the Middle East. He has been declared "persona non grata" in several of them. This is because he helps to train pastors who are there to share their faith with those around them.

When a convert gets baptized, they become apostate, and often a family member is detailed to perform an honor killing because the convert disgraced the family by being apostate.

You may get arrested and kicked out of the country. You may spend time in jail. If they are really ticked, you may have an "accidental" death.

Such is the cross we are called to bear.

I really don't know about Irani people, but I'll talk about Islam.Since it's allowed for Muslims to preach to other people from other believes(not in every country),then I don't mind the opposite as long as it sticks to the respect to Muslims'religion and believes.I've read that back in Andalus(now Spain) Islam was the main religion yet it permitted the Christian preaching. Also philosophy blossomed at that age which had many Jewish philosophers as well as Muslim and Christian ones.
For the Muslim converting to Christianity, there are some opposite opinions, but mine is that everyone is responsible for his actions and believes and he'll be judged in the afterlife by God who will decide his fate.

Well St Francis tried to go twice but got shipwrecked twice so you can give it a go now!
I know that some Christians have been literally crucified in Iran so don't expect welcoming arms. You are an infidel there only about 2% of the area is Christian and they are harassed to no end.
My guy had to go to Oman to fix some equipment he was told to keep his eyes on the ground and to walk only on this one path because that was considered unholy ground.
He was not to make eye contact with the natives or he would be killed. The job was supposed to take about a month he got it done in 10 days just to get out of that crazy country!

While I would be proud of you to take on such a dangerous task if the Lord prompted you to go, you run the risk of dying openly in the streets for your faith. Many of the people there aren't as violant as many people believe they are, but the groups that are have no remorse for killing others and spilling innocent blood. In some of the countries there, if a muslim converts to any other religion, he dies. It's not a choice for some of them. A mission like this would require great faith, and being prepared to be a martyr for the Lord.

I think that your freedom of speech would be limited. I think you would realize how much freedom of religion you have here in the USA, to talk about religion not just in your own house but out in public and even on the computer. Things are so strict over their that you are literally watching every thing you say. Their is a chance you could get jailed.

Please read this book if you are truely serious about being a missionary oversea's. http://www.amazon.com/Prisoners-Hope-Captivity-Freedom-Afghanistan/dp/0385507836 Its about two people who went over sea's to Afghanistan and it talked about them being kidnapped due to their faith by the taliban (no longer in existance) but still their are other groups over their who would love to kidnap christians.

But if you feel strongly about doing so to be a missionary don't let things like these stories scare you. God will protect you! God will make a way when their seems to be no way!

probably the same thing you would do to a muslim if they came into your church and preached messages from the curan. muslims are not violent people. my assumption on this, and i could be wrong, but you're asking only so you can get the general reaction you've so far. that being, that muslims are somehow less of a moral group of people than you and your fellow christians. if that is the case, i suggest you go back to your klan meeting and ask your questions there.

Why wouldn't you want them to be happy believing what they currently believe? I think it's possible you could run into a Christian in Iran and that should make you happy enough. Christianity is not the only path. It is a path but not the only path.
Compassion, love, kindheartedness and respect all lead to every ancestral spiritual guide be they Jesus or the Buddha or the prophet Mohammed. I have a feeling that nothing would happen to you. You'd be as safe there as you are here.

"No extreme pupils doubt to any extent further". Please cite your source for that. It expenditures no longer something in credibility to allow that some guy or woman guy or woman might have lived and died as defined in a spiritual textual content textile. (people in the days of "Jesus" have been in specific circumstances crucified.) that isn't an fact that he extremely did. Historians in basic terms droop judgment approximately it because of the fact there is not any Jesus-particular evidence.

Actually, Muslims do believe in Jesus. They believe he was a prophet as Muhammad was but not as great. When my pastor and other missionaries head to Muslin Africa areas, they have healing crusades. Muslims belive Jesus was a phropht who did healings and miracles. There have been no problems. Go for it and heal IN JESUS NAME!!!

Expect a hostile reaction. Both Christianity and Islam have a real issue over letting people decide things for themselves, so I'd figure cold shoulder at minimum, bullet hole/ suicide bombing at most. Just a flesh wound, really.
