I don't find that a lot of people actually "let" their kids talk nasty as opposed to they just do.
Some kids talk nasty behind their parents backs and some do it right to their parents faces. Either form is disrespectable to what their parents may have taught them. Why they do it is purely what's going on in their heads and the influence their environment may have on them.

I think it not only has to do with lack of discipline, but lack of love and respect. If you love your child, you will instill in them a strong sense of respect for everyone, not just their elders but every living thing on this earth. Children must be taught boundaries from birth up, alot of people either dont realise this or choose to ignore it, believing their child can do no wrong.

I was taught right, therefore I respect my elders. Even the ones who HATE to be called old. i.e. people in their 20's and 30's. I talk nicely. I wouldn't want to be talked nasty to.

I don't. My children show adults respect and if they don't they have consequences. Fortunately I haven't had to discipline them for being nasty yet.

I don't, and I wasn't raised that way. I absolutely despise it when others let their children talk horrifyingly to others, especially their parents.
