First, saturate the area with cola (yep that's right, the carbonic acid in it is a brilliant cleaner) leave it sit for 10 minutes then come back and mop with hot soapy water (I use laundry detergent but dish soap will work too).
I have three sons and two male cats who don't have good aim and I tried this after buying every cleaner on the market so I know it works well.

You just have to make sure you scoop any mess immediately - change the whole litter box at least weekly - more depending on how many cats use it - you could have a box with a domed lid over and try to put a stick-up air freshener inside of it.

Add baking soda to the litter, scoop the clumps twice a day, wash the box thoroughly once a week with a strong disinfectant.

The only litter I will buy is Scoop Away. It protects against odor better than any other brand

well if you want to keep it in that room baking soda works pretty well we have five cats. the best remedy is just changing it every day or every other day.
a little trick to hide the box from view is to put a catflap leading the garage then putting a dog house over the litterbox then that way the box is outside without haveing your cat outside, the odor is gone and when you want to clean it you simply lift the dog house up clean it and replace it again.

I have keep baking soda in the litter and clean it once every couple of days. It also matters the litter you use. Don't use clay. This is for two reasons. One it is bad for cats, two it doesn't absorb the odder. I use Armin Hammer kitty litter, it is great! Hope this helps.

Scoop it out at least once a day, use baking soda in the box, and put one box right near the box. Baking soda absorbs odors.
