Why do you want to run? Because you like it or you want to lose weight? What is exactly your knee and foot problem?
After suffering from tendinitis and running for the last 30 years I cut my runs down to twice a week. Instead I swim 3-4 days a week, ride a bike, use a cross trainer 1-2 times a week and do Yoga once a week. A routine like this will keep your weight down. Along with good food.

1- For asthma : use inhaler about 30 mins before exercise.

2- For knee : if you are used to running, pain is your best guide for this. The rule is : if it pains, stop it. With the exception of normal muscle fatigue pain, of course. Begin with short runs (below 30 mins). If you are unable to withstand that (when you could before injury, and have not gained too much weight), it might be that you should quit running, unfortunately.

Have you considered trying an elliptical machine? My chiropractor had me start using one to help me get into running. My endurance level was so poor that running for any amount of time really wasn't an option, but the low-impact nature of the elliptical machine helped me improve my endurance safely. It's also helpful to have the mph, calories, and distance gauges right there, too - they let you know just how hard you're working. So, maybe an elliptical machine would help you work at a level that'll help you improve enough to get started running. It worked for me.

Good luck!

Been there, done that. I have asthma and used to love running until my knees went bad. If you are having problems with your knees stop running immediately, or you could have permanent problems walking.
