It depends on who's paying and what the scientist is offering.
Oil companies pay a LOT, billions of dollars in the last decade. But now that there is very little confusion left in scientific community any scientist who has an anti global warming theory had better be well prepared to defend it, and that takes money. The pockets will have to get a lot deeper to keep the argument going.
Unfortunately, in the meantime it confuses people into inaction.

No, promoting global warming is where the money is.
Recommend the documentary called "The Great Global Warming Swindle" available on google videos. It's more scientifically accurate than Al Gore's.

Could be:

I can't believe people are still citing the silly "Swindle" movie. It's been completely discredited.

and many other websites. Channel 4 had to publically apologize for deception in an earlier film by this guy.

He makes Gore look like an unbiased observer. And Gore stretches the point, although he has the basics right.

maybe for political guys like Al Gore
for the laymen or infamous people its a pain in the but,. to have to explain over and over again to ostriches that it is happening all over the world already and has been for a while
that Humanity is partly responsible and could have a healing effect if only they would get it together
but fat chance of that
a small village cannot even get it together to keep their river clean
and the big politics is more interested as to who is gonna be the king of the world right now
they dont care that the mothership is on fire
definately no money in it for me ,if anything it cost more money
to drown my sorrows

There is an overwhelming concensus in the scientific community that global warming IS real and it IS a significant issue. If you decide to speak out against it (which i hope you don't), chances are that you will be criticized, mocked, and insulted in many ways. Please, please don't follow hopes of money over your actual beliefs, especially in this case since the money isn't there.

Yes. It assures that you will get a REAL job as a REAL scientist instead of being thought of as just another liberal quack!

No--those who disagree are being fired from their jobs...like Oregon's and Delaware's climatologist.
