I just saw three colors, all wide lacy sanitary belts in my catalog. Also, I read an article in 17 Magazine that younger women are switching away from the stick on pads to the new pretty belts with thin disposable pads... not the old thick/clumpy pads and ugly belts.
Any other ladies here know why? What are the benefits?

Where will all the menses go?

Pretty lace or no, I still prefer my grandma drawers and a big pad.

Back in the day, the sanitary napkin belts did not always hang onto the end to the sanitary napkin. For example; if the front came free while you were walking it would inch up your back with each step and vice versa. These were very uncomfortable and embarrassing.

I am sure there must have been some improvements in how they attach during the past few decades. Anyhow, after having a baby you have to wear pads for a couple of weeks. The thicker and wider the better, especially at first. Every time Baby is breast fed, there is a gush down there. (breastfeeding also helps get your body back in shape faster).

I suppose with the belts you can adjust the fit to be more or less snug than panties would allow. If they made a comfortable and functional belt that looks pretty, it may help some women feel a a bit less yucky. They most likely won't get stained because they don't go across the bottom where the pad is. Periods are feminine. Sometimes we need to think about how special it is to be a woman and how marvelously our bodies are made that we can grow a baby inside of our wombs, A new human being that did not exist before.

So whatever you choose to wear to protect your clothes. When you have a baby, it will change the whole world for you and make it all worth it.

God Bless You, ;-)

Personally, I don't like the idea of a sanitary belt at all. When it's my time of the month, I wear granny panties and a big stick on pad.

I just don't believe you. How could sanitary belts be coming back into style after 50 years?

This sounds alright, like it might work better for some of us than stick-on. Definitely something to consider.
