If you don't believe in a certain religion, why ask asinine questions about it?

Is it that you are trying to appear smart, don't have much else to do, or are you that misrible that is makes you happy to try to make fun of others?

Phoenix - why is it okay for non-Christians to ask what I feel are ignorant questions but it's not okay for me to ask?

I just am curious as to why it's "fun" to pick at Christians, but when it is done back, oh, now I am just trying to come off as superior. Hmmmm, kinda like the people that I "picked on" did.....

Some people seem to get a power trip off insulting others faiths behind the saftey of a computer screen. I think that most of them wouldn't have the guts to do it face to face with the blatant insults that fly around this board. Makes me feel sorry for them really.

I'm with you. I don't see the point in it. As long as what another person believes in isn't harming me in any way and is making them happy then have at it. Atheists are also "slammed" on this board as well though. (thought I'd mention that) Some people are just hateful.
EDIT: Christians are seen as having a superior attitude when they slam another group because some are hyprocrites and have an "I'm the victim" attitude. (Read: not all, some) I have read many questions on this site asking why it is the Christians that are always picked on. The askers completely disregard the fact that there are numerous hateful and rude questions and things said in real life and on this site by Christians towards other religions and groups. It's hyprocritical. Christians aren't the only religion that takes any flack, and I think some forget that, along with their own misdoings towards others.

This question abuses a particularly annoying offense tactic that is commonly used by those very religious people who claim to be ridiculed. You are writing as if you are better than someone and putting them down by essentially calling them names with your "question". This tactic is both childish and ineffective.

It's not okay to ask such childish "questions" of anyone. Therein lies the problem with your "question". Since you feel so strongly that we should not make fun of people, perhaps your cause would be better aided by your not engaging in the very activity you wish to prevent. I think we all know how well "I know you are, but what am I?!" works. We do not engage, we rise above.

Prodding the religious is like dropping a rat into a trap.

They run round and round trying to find a way out, and then just sit there in the middle, hissing at things.

I agree with you, every person is entitled to their own beliefs and nobody has the right to make fun of it. On the other hand I don't religion pushed upon me. That is why I tend to stay away from religious questions. This a exception because of the question you asked.

It seems as though u had enough of it but the reality is that religion can't defend itself because it's not factual. Based on that some of us are retaliating because of the hurt we felt from believing in it 4 so long only to realize it was a lie.

If you are secure in your beliefs then it shouldn't matter what anybody says. Unless of course you aren't so secure in your beliefs. If you aren't that secure in your beliefs or find this section offensive then go to other sections in Yahoo Answers. It's not that difficult. Some people ask questions becuase they really want to understand.

People will always try to destroy what they do not understand, it's been proven over and over again. It is a fault of man. A lot of them just want to make others unhappy and make them stumble, some truely mean their question no matter how strange or silly it might sound to those answering it. We can't always see which mean their question and which are trying to be insulting, so be patient with them.

Because it is taught in the form of Facts and Truth to children. Screwing them up real good. It promotes an unhealthy world view when it comes to self honesty and rationality.

Religion should be "slammed" because of all the harm it does in the world. A few billion people believing various religious superstitions is not a good thing, especially when they use those supersittions to pass bad laws and harm others.
