Just use Limewire for music and videos, dont use it for software or other kind of files coz they could be infected by any malware....if you wanna use a software for downloads, use emule.

it let's you download streaming stuff too:
HTTP / HTTPS
FTP
MMS (Microsoft Media Services)
RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol)
PNM (rename PNM to RTSP)
BitTorrent
