I lightly browned some ground beef last Thursday night and stuck it in the fridge, not the freezer. I was going to put it in a skillet and brown it darker to make sloppy joes tonight. Is it still good?

That's 4 days... how does it smell? If it smells funky, toss it.

The advantage of cooking the beef, as you did, is that you driven off some of the moisture and cooked the enzymes that would cause raw hamburger to go bad if you held it in the refrigerator for 4 days. Cooked hamburger keeps a little longer than raw.

you should have no problem with that meat. Don't let anyone scare you use your senses, if it smells and looks fine it's fine. That is the beauty of cooked food, it will ALWAYS let you know. Food will generally last about a week. Sloppy joe's is a great way to use up left over meat because you will be cooking it long and adding other flavors, don't be scared that is why we use the fridge, to preserve our food.

Sure, as long as it has been the the fridge all this time it should be fine. I would only worry if it had not been cooked.

This should solve your problem.
I think that you can use the meat again if you are going to try and cook it especially for sloppy joes!

When in doubt, throw it out. Meaning, if you had to ask, toss it.
