I am making beef with gravy over rice. I have a package of frozen mixed veggies which include carrots, corn, green beans, peas and lima beans. I have another frozen package of italian mixed veggies which include zucchini, broccoli, carrots, italian grean beans and lima beans. The veggies will be my side dish for tonight's dinner, however, I don't want to do the usual steaming and serving. I want to add a kick to them and not just by adding a seasoning. Is there anywhere I can cook or saute them that you can recommend me to do so they would go well with the beef and gravy over rice? Recipe in full please. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I think I'll be using the regular mixed veggies not Italian.

Try stir-frying them with some Virgin Olive Oil and minced garlic.

Could you throw the veggies in with the beef and gravy and call it beef stew?

you can always add a little vinegar to you meat or vegetables. it gives it a twang taste, and it kills bacteria.
