I tried to dye my hair a light brown/ dark blonde color a few days ago and when I washed it out it was a gray blue color. I realized afterwards that it was for people with gray hair. So, I bought another box of hairdye that was the same color, but a different brand. It turned out an even darker gray/blue color. Now I want to dye it back to a blonde/brown color and I'm not sure how to without messing it up even more and the salon says that I shouldn't dye it for 4-6 weeks, and I dont want to have to keep it that long.

Unfortunately, you may have to go to a salon if you want to have it colored any earlier. It just isn't safe to do a home job right now....

However, why not try Natural Instincts? It is a temporary fix, but I used it 2 months ago to tone down some highlights and the color is still there!!

Click on the "see our entire color palette" box.

Stay away from colors under ash or neutral...as they may contain a grayish undertone; go for the Golden or Bronze, as they contain Warm or red undertones.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Yikes. Go to a different salon, they'll use a color remover and strip your hair. 4-6 weeks they're saying to avoid more damage, but by then the color will be really settled in your hair. Don't do anything more yourself, trust me or you won't be able to fix it.

I suggest you see a professional.
Hair dye is meant for people with gray hair why did you dye it in the first place? Wait just wait till you actually need it (when your hair turns gray).

You need to go to a salon & get it colored professionally! Find a salon that is willing to color it for you after you tell them when you last colored it yourself. Then keep it conditioned daily & get the ends trimmed every six weeks, to get rid of the dryness.

did u use an ash brown u never use ash or champane unless you ask your hairdresser. ash colors have a blue/green base that is used to cancle out gold and red now you need a golden brown to cancle out the grey. coloring your hair too much will make it fall out and its bad for your scalp so be careful and good luck.
