Not in the United States.

Holy Days of Obligation are feasts on which Catholics are required to assist at Mass.

In the United States these are:
+ Christmas, the Nativity of Jesus, December 25
+ Mary Mother of God, January 1
+ Ascension of the Lord, forty days after Easter
+ Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15
+ All Saints' Day, November 1
+ Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, December 8

Outside the United States, variations of Holy Days may occur.

With love in Christ.

Not a holy day of obligation, just an observance. There is pretty much a feast day of some saint every day. Sometimes two in one day. Not every one is a holy day of obligation, but it's fun to read up on the saints involved.

No. Since 1983 there are only these HDO's left:

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God - January 1

The Ascension of the Lord - Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - August 15

All Saints - November 1

Immaculate Conception - December 8

Christmas - December 25

I didn't even know there was a feast for St. Joseph. Most Catholics don't keep track of the feast of Saints.

here are the holy days of obligation:
feast of Mary's Immaculate Conception- Dec. 8
Christmas- Dec. 25
Octave of Christmas, Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God- Jan. 1
Ascension Thursday -40 days after Easter
Feast of Mary's Assumption- August 15
All Saint's Day- Nov. 1

Nope. It's a feast day for some parishes and dioceses, but it's not a Holy Day of Obligation.

As a Catholic... sure that's. OR as one Priest positioned it.. "a holy day of chance" -- because the concept of a duty is so overseas and scary to any such vast volume of human beings now-a-days. a lot held this morning and this evening for Catholic faithfuls to attend. i'm making plans on attending the 7PM mass at my community church. i'm notoriously undesirable about remembering to attend. I oftentimes bear in options the morning of, bypass to artwork, intending to bypass in the evening, then without wondering.. stress homestead and entirely ignore about it 'til the subsequent day.

No it is not. There are hundreds of saints and if there was holy day of obligation on every Saint's day, we would have to go to church almost every day.
