So how many calories should I burn a day.

I usually eat abot 800-1200 calories a day.

I run 30mins (about 3 miles)

So besides telling me bmr thing which I did and it said like 922 (wich I think I did it wrong)

How many calories should I try to be burning to lose like 3-4 lbs a week?

Alright so the number of calories your body burned naturally a.k.a. your BMR (the one you've calculated is too low) throughout the day is 1518.75.

What you should do is increase your caloric intake to 1500, that way you burn off...say 350 calories when running, then your body burns off the rest.

To lose 3-4 lbs you should try and increase your running time to an hour, your best bet to lose it that fast would actually be to try slimfast. I lost 8 lbs in two weeks and I'm only a pound heavier then you.

Good luck and happy maintaining

I did your bmi which says that you are just in the high side of normal weight...at 24.

So...if you are running 30 minutes a day that's good. What you need to do is look at what calories you are intaking not just how much. Cut out white bread. Eat more fiber foods - vegetables, cereal instead of toast, whole wheat bread, cut out fried foods and sugary snacks, lower fat milk. Granola bars are good snacks as well as yogurt. Cut out all soda's. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day (very important to lose weight).

You can tone your abs by doing crunches and leg lifts and your arms with weights. Stop paying attention to the calorie intake and the scales, pay attention to toning your body and watch the difference in the mirror and how you feel because muscle weighs more than fat - the scales are deceiving.

I cant believe Lucy actually quated the BMI. It has been proven that the BMI is grossly inaccurate. The common BMI used today was calculated by insurance companies. If more people are calculated at "overweight" or "obese" they can charge more for policies. If I actually used the BMI I would be anorexic and unhealthy. Im 6ft 3in and it says I should be under 200 lbs?
