Im not having any luck. I want to travel somewhere for my vacation in May but nobody can go with me. So I decided to go on a cruise alone. My vacation will be from May 19-May30 and I cant reschedule. All the cruises I want to go on is around the 21th. However looking at the rules of most cruise lines you must be 21 to get a room. I do not turn 21 untill May 24. And I don't really want to take a cruise after May 25 because I'm concerned about me making it back to work May 31.

So are the cruise lines so strict that I cant go since I'll be shy of my 21th birthday by 3days or is there any cruise lines that do not have an age requirement?

The paying for double occupancy thing doesnt really bother me because I get a discount from where I work on cruises and the supplement will end up being only slightly more than a regular price cruise

Well son, besides your age you have another bigger problem with trying to do a cruise alone. All cruise lines sell all of their cabins DOUBLE OCCUPANCY. That means that if you want to go alone on the cruise, regardless of whether it is this May or next May, you will have to pay a double fare, i.e., pay for two people. So your best bet is to find someone to go with you to share the cost. Then see if you can find someone who is 21 years and over. I know that on cruise lines I have been on they do enforce the policy about age. You will find it specifically mentioned in their cruise information.

Now if you don't mind paying the double fare I just saw a Carnival cruise leaving from New Orleans, its for 5 days, leaving on MAy 24th and it will get back on May 29th. Its less than $500 per person for a cabin (so that's $1,000 if you go alone) but you have to be able to get to NO and back in your vacation window.

The only cruise line that allows anyone under the age of 21 years of age is Princess Cruise Line. If you need help in looking and pricing a cruise contact me direct at dena@thecruiseplanner.com

Looks like you will not be taking a cruise this year. The cruise lines go by when you are 21 and they are strict.

Paying double does not make any sense either. Find something else to do closer to home that does not penalize you for traveling alone.

Better yet, find someone to go with.

Talk to a travel agent. They should be able to find out the information for you.
