I am earning my Master's in the U.S., on an F-1 visa. As part of the degree, I am doing a co-op for GE, and the company wants me to go to Canada for about two weeks (to work at one of their sites).

Would it be better for me to apply for a tourist visa or a temporary work permit? It seems the latter is a more complicated process.

If you are working, and getting paid for the work you are doing, then you will have to apply for a temporary work permit, as you are not allowed to work for pay on a tourist visa.

For best and most accurate information, for your specific situation, I recommend you contact Canadian Visa Office.
