Satan has a free will like you. I cannot believe you use your free will like this either.
God is God no matter what you think of Him. I team up with Him. : )

Satan wanted to be in charge. Satan thought he was just as important as God.
If Satan thought God was more powerful, why would he (and 1/3 of the angels) take God on?
Satan getting "a level up" by turning followers away from Jesus does not occur.
God gave people free will. Some believe, some don't. God gets the souls of those who do, Satan gets the souls of those who don't.

Satan and god were playing a video game and when god started winning, Satan got mad, threw a magazine across the room, and all heck broke loose. After the cops arrived, neither Satan nor God's common law wives would admit to seeing the fight, so the cops gave a warning and everyone went back in and got high. If god hadn't knocked out one of Satan's teeth, you'd have never know that it happened at all.

The simple answer is this: Satan attempted to overthrow God because he was jealous. That's it, plain ol' jealousy caused Satan (and a third of the angels) to revolt and consequently get tossed out of heaven.
However, even though they were thrown out, Satan could still gain entry into heaven. He did just that whenever he talked to God about Job.

Why does a son/daughter war with his parents when his parents gave him/her shelter, food and clothing. Why are kids disobedient to their parent and even curses them?
God did not create robots. He created intelligen life free to make choices.
Satan chose to desobey his creator as a person chooses to desobey the maximum speed limit in a highway.
God permits Satan and other rebel intelligent life keep living to proof that without God's sovereignty life is full of suffering and chaos.
With the time given, there is no doubt that independence of God results in failure of life. Soon Jehovah God will restore his sovereignty in the entire universe and destroy Satan and his followers.

Satan thought if he got enough angels on his side God would have to give him a promotion to God the Son's level. God said no and gave him and the angels siding with him every chance to repent of his/their sins, but after it was clear Satan and his followers would never repent, God kicked them out of heaven, instead of killing them then and there. He gave them a chance to prove to the universe if their ways were correct; if their accusations about God were correct.
Satan's sins included pride and jealousy and covetousness. He put himself up as God. He lied to the other angels about God and God's character and His government and His laws. He asked that he be worshiped like God. He tried to steal what was rightfully God the Son's.

Considering christians say Satan was perfect, he could've only rebelled if there was a possibility of winning. Either he wasn't perfect and/or God is not all powerful, or a story made up by humans.

You misunderstand omnipotence. God cannot create a morally free creature incapable of not choosing evil. Thus Lucifer was able to choose good or evil.
Angels, demons, etc., are not all-knowing. Only God is. Hence, Lucifer can be mistaken in what he thinks he knows. Lucifer and his minions truly believe that they have a chance in defeating God in the last days. They, like the non-believers, will realize the error of their "knowledge" at the Judgment.

Satan thought that he was more powerful than God and wanted to rule in his place. Pride and arrogance.
Revelation 12:9 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

There is no war or contest. Satan's pride caused him to think of himself as greater than God. We do the same when we do not believe that God even exists. God is still God, regardless.

Ok. Satan was not satan always. He was the most beautiful angel ever called, Lucifer. God loved him and took care of him. Lucifer commited the sin of pride and thought he was better than God so God created a place where the bad souls and lucifer could stay...The War between heavan & Hell. satan thought he was better than zgod so he thought he could win
