Wow, excellent question.
My mom joined the Army (many moons ago), and they paid for her to go to nursing school. I think it'd be a great way for you to get college paid for, and "see the world" at the same time. You might visit your local Navy recruiter to see how all of that works. My husband was a Navy man, and he seemed to enjoy his time, and he still keeps in touch with some of the friends he made.
If you enlist after college though, you will almost automatically enter as an officer, but possibly with a lot of debt from college tuition.

Go to school out of town. No matter what the recruiter tells you it is extremely difficult to finish a degree especially in nursing. if you join the Navy based on your medical interest be picked to be a corpsman and go out in the field in combat and treat wounded Marines. A worthy job in any case but a distraction from your final goal. Do not join the military until you graduate. As an officer the money is better too and you have your education.

Talk to your high school career counselor.
If you enlist, now, you will have more time to mature and decide what you want in life.
When I was in the military, even while stationed overseas, I took college courses. When my enlistment was up, I used VA benefits to get a degree.
You can do the same. Or, if you enlist, take a year to get familiar with Navy life then apply for Officer Candidate School. If you get accepted and become an officer, you may be able to attend college while on active duty.

Join The navy and let them give you an education for free. College costs thousands of your future earnings the navy pays you and educates you at the same time plus gets you out of your home town and when you return to your home town you will be well respected as a member of our military. Good luck .

Well seeing as the Navy provides corpmen for the marines, you should get to see some interesting places and get shot at. I might suggest college and a job where you probably won't end up dead.

You can do both, at least in the USAF you could. I know many Airmen who finished their Bachelors degree on Active Duty. Some left, some applied for Commission.

if you're going to work, go to college, if you need a push
from time to time to keep you on the beam , see a recruiter
and have him/her line you up for corpsman school.
