I have been told that this diet can really help lose weight. However, I have a horrible sweet tooth. Will this go away with time?

The 'Atkins' diet works best for people with an 'o' bloodtype. Reason being they secrete more digestive juices into their stomachs for digestion of dense protein. Not everyone has a blood type able to do this. The Atkins diet needs to be followed to the 'T' in order to fully realize its benefits.

For instance a great deal of supplementary fiber should be consumed on this diet - besides the dietary fiber of the few vegetables you are allowed. Also, you should consume @ 10 ozs of water for every 1oz of protein you consume on this diet, on top of the proper amount of water you should drink everyday of your life - half your bodyweight in ozs, spread out thru the day. As well, you should look into taking digestive enzymes specifically directed at the digestion of protein - papain and bromelain - which are papaya and pineapple enzymes. Incidentally apple protein helps breakdown pork products.

You should look into your blood type and find some information on 'eating right for your blood type'. GoodLuck

Yes the Adkins diet works. My wife and I went on the diet for 3 months. I lost 30 lbs, my wife lost a bunch but wouldn't tell me. She also lost inches, and sizes.
I liked the diet for a little while then I got tired of eating.yes eating. You can eat all the meat you wont as often as you wont. Believe me you well get tired of meat. But it works.
About your sweet tooth, part of the diet is no sweets. yes your appetite for sweets well go away...

It worked for me. I can tell you that the "sweet" tooth eventually fades(the first couple weeks are admittedly rough...but stick with it) as you start craving proteins. As you go along you can add carbs back but if you're like me, you'll always have to watch them. The thing I learned is ..eating carbs makes you crave more carbs! The other thing I learned is that lifting weights got me in great shape and made me crave proteins!

Good luck :)
