My husband is Greek , has olive skin, dark eyes and hair, but my daughters have pale skin, bright blue eyes and blonde hair, which is all from me. Do i just have stronger genes? as i thought dark was more dominant.

Dark hair and eyes are dominant over light ones, is it at all possible that somewhere in the deep dark family background someone in his family married 'out'? giving him a recessive blond, blue-eyed gene? Genes aren't stronger or weaker in the sense that they battle one another and the stronger person has the stronger genes. And you children may have darker hair as they grow older.Too, in much of the Mediterranean, northern sections of a country may have some blondes and this may have passed down to him.

dark hair tends to be dominant but you can have a mix of dark and light genes from the greek and because it is a mix the dominant would show but the recessive would still pass into offspring and that mixed with the recessive genes of a lighter skinned spouse you can have a light haired, light eyes child

Hmmm, every case is different. Maybe your next child will inherit his genes. Who knows!

My friend is a dark Latina, her husband is blond haired Caucasian (dont know the background) and the baby is also blond haired and light eyed.....

I just think every case is different. Its like a box of chocolates.... never know what youre gonna get!

I was born with pale skin and brown hair like my mom, but now I have dark skin and dark brown hair. What i am tryin to say is it depends. They would probably grow with your kids in time! But it depends and it is not always the case that dark is more domainant.

Skin color is complicated genetically. I'm pretty sure there are multiple genes involved, which means that really, it's hard to tell.

usually the genes for lighter eyes and hair color are recessive but you also have to look in his family also....its all a big spin of the wheel...if you were to have another child he/she may end up with your husband coloring and features.
