I would say so. There is always a more rational explanation for the 'miracles' but theists will always find a way to say that god did it. To attribute it to god is to believe in the proverbial benevolent uncle. This has a warmer, fuzzier, safer feeling than the rational answer. This is one of the reasons that theists believe in god. God is a security blanket.
On the other hand, a placebo is the WRONG analogy. Placebos often do actually work if you believe they work. This is not the same as attributing a normal event to a deity.

In a way, sure. But if you go very far down that road, you'll only have proved that human beings have a generally untapped source of "energy" that it would be simple to identify again with "God." The difference, of course, would be that you'd have removed any dogmatic implications from the idea.

You keep asking all these anti-Christian questions?
What is your point?
Why couldn't you say I don't believe in Jesus or God or anything? Then you wouldn't have to spend so much time on the computer thinking of nonsense questions like this? You could get a hobby or something.

Yep, you've gotten it right. It's really just a comfort to people because they want to have something to fall back on if things go bad for them. This way, they can feel there is some "plan" or "big guy" watching out for them. But it doesn't mean any god is there, just because they believe in one.

Actually there is evidence that believing in God can heal you. There are many instances today of Gods miracles.

Perhaps. Too many "coincidences" in my own life to write it off as a placebo though.

Only problem with this is that placebos DO have statistical effects.
Which is odd,...
if you think about it.
