Surely your husband can help you make a start. Begin by going grocery shopping together if possible, and ask him not to eat sugary snacks and bad stuff in front of you. cutting out simple (refined) carbohydrates like white flour and sugar should help, as eating them produces a rush followed by a slump in energy levels. Also think about your insides- bad carbs and sugar contribute to problems like type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer. Stick to wholegrain cereals and bread, so start the day with fruit or juice and maybe poached egg on wholemeal toast or weetabix or porridge. I don't know whether you work or not, but try and get a little fresh air every day, so go for a walk or bike ride together. Don't go mad and be too strict straight away, or you won't stick to it, and don't deny yourself a treat every now and then. There are eating plans available in magazines such as Zest and Weight Watchers, or ask at your local gym or health food shop for advice. also get some vitamins, especially b complex, calcium and vitamin c. Holland and Barrett are excellent and you can order online. The new food labelling symbols used by most manufacturers now tell you everything you need to know about fat, salt etc. so it shouldn't be too hard. (sorry I'm going on a bit!) also find a buddy to work out with if you can afford it-I go to aerobics twice a week with my friend and have started doing an exercise dvd at home. The exercise helps me feel better, as I have been unemployed for the last 10 weeks. Good luck love! :)

I used to think the way you do. Here are my ideas as to why I now feel much much better: (please see a doctor before you do any of this) replace any tea or coffee that you drink with spiced Indian tea (preferably Ayurvedic) or Jasmine tea, try and eat naturally coloured and spiced foods. Eat only what you know has been produced naturally and ethically. If you are a meat eater try and make sure that the meat is from a good farm and not full of hormones. If you have a desk job try and sit properly and invest in a simple book on yoga (Bks Iyengar has written a good one). I know this sounds like crap but it isn't, if you don't eat any junk (sweets, crisps, ready meals etc) sleep well and only do what you feel like doing when it is not things that you have to do (work, family, housework etc), have times of your own to reflect and think, read, paint etc then your body starts to feel invigorated. This I have found means that you do not have to give up smoking nor drinking.

Just start by eating an apple or a banana once a day. Have a glass of orange juice instead of coke.
Then the next step is to cut out fatty processed food and start making your own yummy meals from scratch!
Have some savoury seeds on standby for those times when your blood sugar needs a boost - so much better for you than sweets and crisps.
You'll soon notice the difference.

You're probably feeling ill from all the fat and salt that you eat. If your husband tells you to stop eating junk, then what does he eat? Can't you eat the same?
Cut out crisps and (most) chocolate for a start - snack on grapes, raisens and othe chopped fruit, or nuts. Cook meals from scratch and do not eat anything if it comes in a plastic packet with a cardboard wrapper on it...
And drink more water.

You don't need to go overboard with the healthy eating thing but at least you can change your diet if you genuinely eat lots of junk...eat meals with fresh veg and eat some fruit every day..drink water and exercise regular even if it's only a brisk walk for a start...most of us eat junk food at times but in moderation...but there can be other reasons if you feel s..te all the time so talk to your doctor if you need to

Well, you can start by cutting down on sugary and salty stuff. Try eating fruits, vegetables and wheat products. Snacks are okay once in a while, but if you abuse them, they're going to break down your body. I don't know if you're really into soda, but if you are, cut down on that too. If you're going to have soda, opt for diet at least 75% of the time. Stick to healthy juices, water and low fat milk.

Why don't you become a vegetarian?. I felt much better after turning veggie.
As well, you might want to consider going to the Doctor and running some tests as you might have something. It's not normal to feel like s**t most of the time just because of eating junk food.

Stop eating so much junk food - that's "where to start"...??? I mean, if you're feeling ill all the time, try eating healthy, like vegetables, fruits, and non-greasy meals. Drinks lots of water, yadayadayada...
