Since brown and blonde hair are dominant genes over the red haired gene, in a few years, if redheads don't marry other redheads, they will become extinct, right? I mean, look how few there are now because of that, I was wondering if they will be a lost race sooner or later.

No way, as long as there are strawberries and other red fruit there will be red haired people.

i replace into no longer conscious that redheads have been a separate species. considered one of my exes is a ginger; does that mean I dedicated bestiality? this is probably a case of the media sucking rather puzzling at reporting technology (see: each and every thing on Yahoo's technology information area, rather something to do with evolution). What may be occurring is the gene that motives crimson hair is recessive, so it might possibly no longer be providing as in many circumstances in the final inhabitants, in keeping with risk? The genes are nonetheless there and could save doping up each and every now and then, except y'all are contracting a redhead-specific deadly ailment that I had no longer heard of. It rather feels like a mutation (hah!) of that "blonds are going extinct" nonsense from some years lower back, which replace into suggested on in the media. The genes for blondness are not even providing much less in the inhabitants, i've got faith, so as that tale replace into exceedingly lots one hundred% bull. merely in case, although, you ought to probably refrain from skydiving or different such severe-threat events. Heh, i contemplate whether you will get arrested for that if we placed you on an endangered species checklist?

well brown and blonde may be dominant over readheads but there are some situations where some redheads will actually dominate over the browns and blondes. In Ireland most of the population is redheads so people could have children then migrate over to the USA so I think there will always be some redheads

well, i have blonde hair and my husband has brown, and our son was born with flaming red hair, so i guess not!
just because they are the dominant genes doesnt mean there isnt a chance of a child still being born with red hair.
people with green eyes arent "extinct" even though its recessive. and even if two redheads marry and have kids (and... marriage isnt the only way to have kids.) it doesnt ensure that their children will be born with red hair.
i think after thousands of years, if redheads were going to be eliminated, it would have already happened.
and redheads arent a separate race. its a hair color. if the color of their hair was "extinct" they would still exist, but with a different hair color.

No they won't become "extinct" because of ressive genes. Just because mom and dad don't have red hair doesn't mean baby won't have red hair. Could be that great great great grandpa Joe had red hair...as long as there is a gene in the pool there is always a chance.
