Try mixing it with a little moisturizer like cerve, thy make an am with spf and pm version put the am one one when you wake up to keep te sun from burning your face up and causing your face to become more painful. You can buy it OTC now or ask your derm for some samples. They are very light and not oily. I'd probably wash with cerve soap or neutrogen cleanser and do more of a 'pat' cleaning then a true wash so as not to rub your skin raw. That is a side effect of retain-a. I hope your derm or pcp told you to wear sunscreen and retain-a can cause bleaching of fabric so be sure to place a soft towel or sheet over any dark fabrics on your bedding in the event that not all of it was washed off. Just because you don't see the sun doesn't mean it doesn't exist. As for the oil, Mac makes a great powder or buy some inexpensive blotting cloths sometimes the dollar store carries them. Your face is oily because it's making up for your lack of moisture so if you're deligent about moisturizing your skin will eventually stop producing a large quantity of oil and begin to rely on your moisturizer. I guess you could say... Skin has memory.

To treat the scar i received from having a chunk of flesh cut from my arm for melanoma (I have the post op pics if you'd like to see) I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter...I think it said specifically on the tube for scarring.

Did you know that tanning beds cause a 55% increase in skin cancer?

Use vitamin E oil or pure cocoa butter on your burn. I hope it doesn't become cancerous.
