Yes you would not only feel sick, it would make you sick and even dead, cats and dogs always have parasites (or their eggs) in the intestines, worming merely controls the parasites and keeps number down so as not to affect the animal.
Then there are things like E. Coli, Coccidia...just to name a few, all which can be found in cat faeces, not to mention Toxoplasmosis Gondii which can cause people who are infected to go nuts as the protozoan enters the brain (same with tapeworms).
You don't eat POO!

Well, I wouldn't want them to lick my face afterwards. Both dogs and cats do this sometimes. If a dog eats another dog's feces, it is a sign of submission. The other dog is the "top dog." If they eat their own, there could be some dietary deficiency. You can buy products to spray on feces to stop this behavior. Or, clean it up immediately. This is something you need to discuss with your vet.

My dog use to lick clean my babys' nappies all the time .God knows why but she is fine now and it never caused a problem to her health only mine as it did make me feel really sick and she always had to have her teeth cleaned and mouth washed after.

no - but I grew up with dogs and cats so I saw it all the time. it seems gross, yeah, but did you know baby elephants eat their parents' poop? their digestive systems don't break down the food very well, but after their parents have eaten and so on, it's broken down a little better so the baby can actually get the nutrition better than if he just ate the food himself. gross-sounding, but totally normal.

Heck no. If that were the case, I'd be sick all the time. I'm always having to scold my dog for eating "litter fritters."
