If what you say is true, then you are normal and nothing is wrong with you.
Just maybe your expectations.
As guys, we think that woman have all the cards... They get to say yes or no...
What we don't understand is you only get to say yes or no to what is offered you.
You could find a guy the most interesting guy on earth but if he doesn't ask you out...
So, my advice. Stop thinking that the next guy you meet will be it. Stop worrying about finding mr right. The next guy you meet will be a friend, or he won't. That is your expectation.
Just like guys can (physically) move too fast in a relationship, women can do the same thing emotionally. Scares us away.
Take your time. Meet lots of guys. Don't think the next one will save you from loneliness. Be your own best friend. Go doing the things you like to do. If you're happy, you will look happy. You will smile more. The sexiest thing a woman can wear is a smile. If you are happy, you will attract others.
If you're a nice girl, you'll find a nice guy.
Good luck.
A~

I've been in your position many times, unwilling to settle for someone simply for the sake of it. And why should you? There's no shame in being single.
Sometimes, although they have the best of intentions, one's friends can the make situation worse... For example, you've just made a perfectly neutral comment, maybe cracked a joke about how the guys you get are rubbish...
Your friends don't quite get it because they're not as independent as you are, they assume you'll be upset, and end up saying things like "you'll find someone", "there's someone out there for you", "it'll be okay" and act all comforting.
But... you're already okay... nothing's really wrong. You wonder if you should feel bad... are you abnormal?
No, you're just a little more analytical and level-headed than most people. And it'll help you in the long run.

It's the peer pressure thing. I have so many friends that tell me it's weird to see me with no such relationships or anything. I am happy being me, with no worries but for ones about me and my family. I believe you shouldn't let someone else define who you are. You are probably feeling what so many people out there feel with the peer pressure of society. Everyone is taught from a very young age about what everyone is doing, saying, dressing like and just being one with the crowd. Don't feel like there is something wrong with you. Simply understand that you one one of a kind, not going with the flow of the multitudes but merely one standing against the tide.

How old are you? If you're young (high school), you are totally and completely normal. Even in university, this is normal.
Regardless of your age, try making friends with more males who have similar interests as you - platonic relationships with men are a great way to understand the male psyche and what guys want from women.

You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. I think if you stay comfortable with yourself the right guy will come along. Dont be in too much of a hurry, the right guy is not everywhere.
